DaveT, some days it is just like that. You can't win no matter what. On these days all I ask myself is if the events are really independent. Because yesterday I lost every pot of HU cash I was the favorite in. Just every pot. It doesn't tilt me if it is one or two beats here and there, but I lost every pot.
I mean - how is it possible that there are days when you always lose and there are days when you just can't lose? And I am not talking about how some days you play better than other days, but that the actual cards are some days more in your favor than other days. I know when I play bad and when the cards don't go my way. How is this possible, looking at the randomness and indepency of the events? BTW, I had my first session of 100PLO ever and I ran well even though I barely knew what I was doing (but my opponents knew even less) so I took the money. So something good happened yesterday. Oh, yeah, and I won an entry in WCOOP HU. The easiest loose passive money ever. |

True, Vinetou. I am making a come-back though. After losing 7 in a row, I just won one. Feel the roar!!!!!
I am not familiar with what is normal for hu. I guess I should have played it more passively before diving full into it. It may sound odd that I don't have a larger sample size, but I haven't played but one day in the past three weeks.... |

So... today I played some HU PLO, and found a gigantic spewtard who potted every hand pf, potted every flop, usually checked turn (potted maybe 1/3rd the time), and usually potted river if I checked to him or checked turn behind. Wound up ahead a little over a buyin at $1/$2, then I see this guy sitting for a full buyin at $5/$10 HU PLO.
Question: Do I take a shot for way above my roll against a player like this (I have about 1.5 buyins for $5/$10) who I can crush in the long run but run a horrible risk of ruin against due to his playing style? I did not see him play a hand at $5/$10, and he was sitting at like 3 $10/$20 tables, so I'm not sure if he was blowing off steam at $1/$2 or if he's someone will a bit too much disposable income. |

InsaneSteve, it is the same question as in Super system, when Dolly says: If someone offered you 10 to 1 on a coin flip for all your money, would you take it? Similar, not the same. I would take that offer because I don't have much yet. If I had a millions of dollars, I wouldn't take it.
Here, it depends: What will ruin mean to you? Is that all you have or you have money on some other site etc... I don't like to play above my limits even the biggest donks. -EV of playing above your limit and a fear that may influence your game is bigger than +EV of playing against the biggest donk ever. Remember: suckouts happen. |

it's amazing how bad the winning regs are at the 22s to 55s. it's also amazing how ungodly hot they run against me.

[/ QUOTE ] I've seen fish in really high HUSNG regular speeds that I feel I have close to a 70% edge in. I'm sure I've seen some in games where I've had as little as 2 buyins in at the time. The thing that makes me not do it is the fact that if I work hard I should have 10 buyins for those kind of games in the near future and I can sell some of my action making it a good bankroll and money decision. I never take those sort of risks as it's something that can truly screw you and your bankroll up for a long long time. Anyways, anybody have any suggestions for my Poo Bah post? I have like 20 posts left until I put it up so I'm taking suggestions. |

Ry,
if you wrote something on the "red zone" (25/50 blinds) and general game dynamics when blinds rise (but are not near to SAGE mode yet) MANY of us would be thankful. Im sure of that. |
