World famous NYC 10/20 with half kill. This is not a kill pot I open AJo in mp, mp cold calls, button is stuck a lot and 3-bets leaving herself 30 dollars left. 3-ways. Comes T33r, I bet hoping to clear up the pot and get it headsup, mp calls, button raises, i call and mp calls. Turn 3 I bet mp finally folds, button tosses in her last red chip. I say "you got a pair you win?" "of course I have a pair" and she turns over 88. River T and I muck saying nice hand. UNTIL I look closer and say oh crap. The dealer proceeds to turn my hand over and I congenially muck. Meanwhile Mp starts his mouth "If you had just checked the turn like a sane person we could've chopped this pot 3-ways, I'm not stupid enough to miss something like that." I'm happy button won the hand, she's my boss. Mp is her husband ha. [/ QUOTE ] I don't understand, bet/calling is the worst option for trying to get it HU. check raising and bet/3betting would have both been better. |

There is like a right of passage where the guy who has been playing at that level and has more comfort there tends to get possession of the luckbox. [/ QUOTE ] Someone please tell me what level this is for me so I can play it. So far all I know is that it's not between 20/40 and 100/200. Does this mean I need to play 15/30 or 150/300? |

I forgot about this hand until just now and as simple as it seems, it is actually quite momentous, going down in history as the first time I can remember folding a pair against Roc.
3-4 handed 75 (although it is actually 25 with 3/5 blinds) with Roc as SB and a tightpassive and predictable guy in BB (in other words my most favorite kind of person to have in the big blind). I raise button with 9d5d, Roc 3bets, I call. Flop AT9 with a flush draw He bets I call Turn K He bets, I think a while and somehow fold, quite surprised at myself |

Did something take over your betting hand? |

No a flush draw was possible, I didn't have it.
I'm finding the replies to my 2 hands quite interesting, because I am pretty sure that the 33 hand was absolutely butchered and the T9 hand was absolutely perfect but everyone is replying the exact opposite. I also happened to win the 33 hand and lose the T9 hand. Another session of 75/150 Omaha Hi/Holdem I just got back from. I did what I always do and start off big winner. Then I did what I always do after that and lose it all. Mike made an incredible comeback from stuck almost 5 racks to 1 rack winner by crippling my solid win and then mangling Hogan. I still ended up winning an embarassingly small amount. I didn't want to post any specific hands but Crazy Mike demanded I post this one so here it is. An oldie but a goodie, my favorite 1 pair vs flopped flush matchup. So 5 handed Hogan limps UTG, Mike completes sb, I check 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] in BB Flop T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Mike bets, I raise, Hogan coldcalls, Mike 3bets, I 4bet, Hogan folds, Mike 5 bets. Turn 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Mike bets, I raise, he calls River: 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] He checks, I bet, he looks at his cards really weirdly before raising. This might be a fold against him but the pot is humongous and he knows I am capable of folding a flush although it is very unlikely so I had to call. Of course I see red 89. I'm sure everyone is very tired of reading my complaining. I'm also very tired of complaining. The solution is quite simple but I seem completely incapable of winning any significant amount ever again. |
