Chan Ho pulled a perfect Jose Lima impression. Look brilliant in 2 innings with soft stuff, then IMPLOSION TIME BABY!!

Pinto is just an unfortunate name for a reliever

That 3rd inning was just plain odd. 2 outs, bases empty, pitcher up = 5 runs on 0 hard hit balls. It's BS to credit those 5 runs to CHP. The 2 meatball homerun pitches...that's a different story.

[/ QUOTE ] The only good part about that inning was that it forced them to keep streeeeetching out the Minaya interview. After one question, they showed a quick shot of Gary Cohen looking over at Kieth Hernandez to see if he had anything else for Omar. Hernandez just glanced up from some papers, looking kinda annoyed, and shrugged his shoulders; Cohen was forced to come up with another question. Good times. |

[/ QUOTE ] Yes and no on that one. Park retired the first two, let the pitcher (although a good hitting one) get a hit. Then walked the next two to let Cabrera get up there with the bases loaded. Some of that belongs on Park, not 5 runs but some of it certainly does. I'm assuming Pelfrey is going to get another couple of starts to see if he is ready for this level. Park will probably wind up getting another 2 or 3 starts. Hopefully El Duque is only on the DL for about 15 days an no more. We really need Ollie to stay consistent. And we also need Wright & Delgado to figure out how to hit again. We are going to need those 2 guys swinging the bat to win some of these 10-8 games which are going to be frequent with Park & Pelfrey in the rotation. |

What's the deal with John Maine, I've added him to just about every fantasy team I have in the last couple of weeks. Super stud or variance?

[/ QUOTE ] He honestly hasn't made enough starts in the majors to say. He can struggle with his control at times, but has improved in the strikeout department which might be helping in getting himself out of self-made jams. I'd ride him as long as you can, the Mets certainly will. |

I think Maine has improved drastically in the last year and a half. I don't recall his changeup or slider being nearly as good as it is now. I think his current success is maintainable.
