The "dream" goes from Oden to Durant to KG to Jermaine O'neal to Marion... Funny how quickly our expectations drop with this team. In a couple days we are going to be praying to land Joel Przybilla in a trade and hoping Yi falls to us at 5...ugh [/ QUOTE ] Marion > O'Neal, especially for Boston. Neither is worth giving up Jefferson IMO, so that's implicit. |

[ QUOTE ] theoretically blazers offer brandoy roy for rajon rondo. celtics say...? [/ QUOTE ] I can only assume this is a joke post. [/ QUOTE ] seriously. I think this hypothetical conversation would go something like this: Portland GM: Wanna trade Rondo for Roy? Ainge: (creams himself) SOLD! |

Because O'neal is a brooding malcontent and he's injury prone. I think having him around would actually hurt Big Al's development, not help it. As much as O'neal moped and whined in Indiana, it would be worse in Boston.
Marion can play on the perimeter or inside, can run the floor, and he's a better defender than O'neal. Given the choice between the two, I'd much rather have Marion. |

I'm not big on JO either, mostly due to the injury thing though. Marion is also a well known malcontent. Playing for a 60 win team tends to mask those problems, though.
Also, Marion might be a more versatile defender, but JO is a better interior defender. |

Unfortunately, it doesn't matter becasue neither one wants to play in Boston. It's starting to look more likely that Pierce will be traded away than somebody being brought in.
I remember that there used to be a lot of talk in the media that black athletes didn't like playing or living in Boston. Is this still the case, and is it a factor in why so many of these guys don't want to play for the Celtics? Or is it more about Ainge/Rivers? |

I dunno. Boston still has a racist stigma to it, plus it's cold, plus the team sucks bad. Not an attractive combo. Maybe the team should use all the college white girl poon as a selling point. (Funny side note: my best friend was friendly with this girl, was about to ask her out, then found she was getting boned by Walter McCarty. I LOVE WALTER!!).
Either way, Al Jefferson loves it and that's all I care about. |
