Anyone see any mistakes in my math? Anyone out there NOT call this?

Check out Poker Odds. Looks like you're right about the odds of flopping the draw, but flopping a flush is 118:1. You'll end up with a flush on the river 1 time in 16.

And, no, I don't call this.

fold preflop. bet the river. even if bb raises only 5% of the time preflop, it cuts hard into this complete.

I'm looking at this, and I kinda like the river fold...

Well, do you have a read on anybody?

As has been said many times, this is the problem with following the "complete with any suited junk in the SB" rule. You, for all intents and purposes, made TPNK on the river in a tiny, tiny pot. Without a read on BB, I don't think it matters what you do.

Yep, FTR uses the converter that one of the 2+2 players made (BisonBison I believe). The program hasn't been updated in while. AP hand histories have changed since then. The other converter I linked seems to be up to date.

Start a new job next Monday as mortgage broker. I got a call from Crown Casino in Melbourne yesterday with a job offer as a poker dealer. Take the higher wage of the former or enjoy the lifestyle of dealing cards to scumbags all night? This is a tough one.

knockonwood, in my experience, dealing poker while seriously playing poker is a very bad idea. When my job was completely unrelated to poker, I would read 2+2 books on the bus and during breaks, go straight from the job to the casino and read the forums at home but when I dealt I would definitely get tired of looking at cards. There's also the factor of dealing to a juicy table and being annoyed that I can't be playing in it.

I guess you have good point. My crappy job at the moment actually motivates my poker outside of work more than anything. Still i think it would be a lotta fun.

Ive never dealt, but I have heard of a few folks that made very consious efforts of reading the players at their table during that 8 hour shift (might be longer, dunno). They became very good at putting opponents on hands.

I have to agree with Xhad though....keep poker as an outlet, not as something you do 24/7.
