bz,

"It would be stealing if Roger Federer dressed up as someone really terrible at tennis, made it seem like you had a chance to win, then pulled off his mask and said "surprise! Thanks for your money!""

Nick stated his tennis credentials in great detail.

Nick stated that he has a match set up for ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS under these conditions.

Nick stated that he is willing to take any comers.

How the f could he be any more clear about his qualifications here?

Please point out where the "deception" occurred.

"Grow up."

HahhahHAHAHHAHAHHAhhHhahahahhaHAHAHAHAHAhahahha

For some reason I feel like you've never accepted a prop bet before.

You are right. I never have, and probably never will. I'm not much of a gambler.

El D,

In this case, it was the nature of the game that was of issue, not Nick's credentials.

yeah and Ken stupidly didn't research this before running his mouth

many people run blindly into your poker games, and let you win 200k in a month

if they stood back and realized they are huge dogs, they wouldn't play

Here's how I put it in AIM:

[23:16] me: who the [censored] would read this thread
[23:16] me: and not think
[23:16] me: "wow, there must be some [censored] huge angle. maybe I should investigate."

Nick said he'd be willing to wager a metric fuckton on this match. He stated his credentials. He told people everything they needed to know, and then, after saying he'd be willing to wager a TON on the match, he talked about how it was going to be tough to win.

They're called sucker bets for a reason.

Bottomset,

Looking back over the thread I see that Ken did in fact run his mouth a bit. I don't know if I realized that at first but I apologize on his behalf.

But like I said before, those poker players have a CHANCE on every given day to win. That is the difference.

um Ken can win the bet

[ QUOTE ]
anyone ranked top 400 in the world would beat me everytime. that is a fact. today i played a few games with some guys ranked around 200. i won the first few games, but once you figure out the strategy, a skilled tennis player will win. that is why i will take the racket side of the bet.

[/ QUOTE ]

its not a total impossible to win situation

Actually, Nick claimed that he is 150% sure he would win against Ken, in an AIM conversation. So no, Ken has no chance.
