The Guardian is saying Cole for Gallas might happen after all:
"6.38pm Cole to Chelsea, Gallas to Arsenal - it's on like Donkey Kong, according to Chelsea TV (additional reporting by Steve Stifler). A good deal for Arsenal, this: they were always going to lose the convicted-nightclub-brawler lover, so to get one of the world's best centre-halves (and around £15m, presumably) is good business. It hasn't been confirmed, but talks are officially "ongoing". As they've been for the last 12 decades." |

anyone else think this tevez/mascherano deal is a little fishy? The company that owned the rights to them was some how involved with West Ham in some other capacity. Seesms strange, also my understanding is that West Ham is relatively new to EPL. Is it possible that they might be spending too much money on 2 players, sorta like the Rangers and A-Rod? Or maybe they are looking at it as an investment since both players are likely to improve and they can either resell for higher, or keep an improving player. Thought?

It makes no sense that Corinthians would just sell two of its best players. It also seems dumb that the coach thinks a one year contract player is an adequete replacement for a rising 22 year old striker. This all seems very very fishy.

This deal is very shady. The fact that they won't announce how much they paid makes it look worse

I thought it was 20m GMP each?
Still, Corinthians is run by MSI and I guess MSI tried to buy West Ham not too long ago? And Abramovich supposedly owns 15% of MSI? And Chelsea were repeatedly linked with Tevez? |

West Ham can't afford 40 Million and I doubt we will ever know how they paid

Ahh. Sky Sports changed their story from 20m GBP each to undisclosed. I swear I saw it differently last night/this morning.
