Well I've played it for a living at small stakes for a year and a half ... it has been a rotten existence, but hey .. it enabled me to leave a dead end job and finish college

Now que project bankroll .... I want a 20K+ roll so I can play any juicy game I see whether it is limited or unlimited.

Playing live is very +EV for a winning player online as compared to a winning player live trying to be +EV winning online, does everyone agree with me?

Also, I have not been able to post in this topic the last week or more for some odd reason, everytime I log into 2+2 and try to view this microbrew thread, it takes me to a white page with nothing on it, and no other topic does this for me on 2+2. At first I thought it was my employer's blocking me cuz I'm on here so much, but honestly have no idea why I can't view this page when I'm signed in, and can view it perfectly fine when I'm not signed in, but can't post that way

Rant: I had a horrible horrible weekend at $50 NL, lost tons of buyins over probably 15k hands over 3 days and I have a ton of fpps I can't use until Pstars finishes the $1k buyin sunday tourney for the 5400 fpp sng's to start opening up again to win back some much needed buyins from all this rake Pstars has been killing me for

gelford, how far away from 20k are you? i'd be interested in staking you 5k (1/4)(possibly more if you need it), for 20% of profits, of course i've never seen you play but people seem to have a lot of faith in you.

I don't really get how information about your equity when you put money in the pot can be considered unhelpful.

[/ QUOTE ]

Again, as others have stated, ranges >>>> what your opponent happened to hold.

As you play and are gaining / losing stacks, you should know how you're getting in your money. Many times I get a stack and know I didn't deserve it, or vice versa. I don't need a faulty equity calculator to tell me essentially nothing.

A staking ??? ... how does that work on the losses side ??

I am very far from 20K ... I cashed out so I have next months rent and expenses covered, thus never having to cash out again (I am garanteed an income even without a job a month from now solely because I've finished my grade, that is how the system works here) ... so right now I am starting from 500$ .. and roll stands currently at 820$ .. impressive isn't it

Don't think this deserves it's own thread. Meh, I think the issues are pretty obvious. Villain decent TAG, 20/15/4ish, ok sample, so maybe preflop was a misclick.

Standard? Can't really see any other line. The fold is easy in the end, but it's more flop and turn I'm thinking about.

saw flop | saw showdown

SB ($50.35)
BB ($49.25)
UTG Hero ($49.25)
UTG+1 ($68.10)
CO ($37.95)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Hero raises to 2, 2 folds, Button raises to 4, 2 folds, Hero calls 2.

yes, winning online players should play as much as possible live as high as possible, an example, even at a 6max table on stars im always with at least 1 reg sometimes 2, whose game i decently respect and then 1 unknown and 1 shortstack and 1 monkey.... and I still win

Live you play with 5-8 people, very rarely will you have 1 player at your table you respect, you'll have a bunch of monkeys limping like every other hand, a few rocks who you can push around and just fold if they play back at you, you almost always get paid off, valuetown is huge, and its the only place I know where people will play for stacks with mid pair.

the average live player will try to multitable and move up way too fast online with poor bankroll management and will go busto even if they have that deadly initial heater (which we all pray for)

until an online player gets a feel for live though, i wouldnt spend a lot of time talking during hands, being pretty stoic is good initially.

Well .... I have no issues with that .. but if you drop some buyins and start telling tales of tilt, I will ridicule you.

On the other hand, if you drop some buyins and just go: Oh well, [censored] happens, then your street respect will surge !
