what do you guys think about fewer tables/ shorter sessions/ possibly higher stakes and less hands for a solution to my recent problems?

gelford, what kind of monitor setup do you have? do you play much these days?

[/ QUOTE ]

Playing NL100 should hopefully make you focus. Play a normal game, maybe a few less tables (4-6), and profit.

[/ QUOTE ]

I actually play better 6tabling 50nl then I did 4tabling 100nl. I guess because I'm under rolled and scared to play .

I have a Samsung 204b with a 1600x1200, it handles nine resized tables without overlap, tho I could use something bigger monitor as my primary monitor and use this one as my secondary monitor

I haven't played much or very good the last week due to the defence of my paper, but I usually do 10-20K/week and plan to continue playing a lot unless a job gets in my way.

yea im moving down to 6, when i played nl100 last night i played 6 and was able to keep up with the tables 20x better and was so much more focused..... i don't know why i try to play 8 and 12, my win rate at 6 is like 2ptbb/100 better than at 8, sometimes I just want to see as many hands as possible so I can tilt more tho

Can anyone suggest a good place to play live in london? Have never played live before and would like some advice...

Have found Grosvenor Casino which is located around edgeware road, read some online reviews and it looks ok... They offter a £0.50-£1 NL game which you can buy in for around £25 and up, might give it a go, am nowhere near rolled for it but would like to give it a go, might even be fun ... Anyone been there or know of other good places to play in london?

Also, any major differences as far as strategy goes between online and live that I should know about? Links would be great.

Thanks

Guy

Play tight, and raise bigger. The gutshot is supposed to be a nice small stakes pokerroom.
(I'm going to london in 2 weeks haven't got any time to play though )

Thanks, just looked at their website and it looks like just the thing. Quite looking forward to it.. Hope you have a nice time in london.

yea I have 2 20" dells(1600x1200) that run off a 17" widescreen laptop (1920x1200). i usually only run one of the dells, if i use both then one is for aim and 2+2, although my winrates suffer when i try and do these during sessions and the reason I have two was back in the day when I used to 12-16 table mtt and sng's(way before you could resize tables, I was a nut.

Yeah definately go to gutshot, its a nice place, they've had liscencing problems recently, but I think its fixed now by replacing rake with a voluntary entry fee, although I haven't been there in a while. Other place you could consider is big slick, although its further out in Croydon/Purley, if you're on the South side then you should go, dealer dealt tournies is its selling point over gutshot (smaller tournies self dealt at gutshot). If going bigslick you have to fill out a form online a few days before you go though..

having a real job sucks, but playing poker for leisure is a lot better than relying on it to pay bills.... i used to play 40-50 hours a week when I was in school, now I work 45 hours a week and only play like 20-25 of poker, and im scaling back poker to less hours and higher limits! also, I plan on playing a lot more live!
