Another awesome post DVaut1.
Btw, came across a simple little puff piece written by a Domer pretending to be an AP reporter: http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news;_ylt=...p&type=lgns |

I really wish ND had played UW's schedule.
Could OSU keep them below 0 total yards of offense? Would Oregon score 100? Would Claussen be alive today? |

If only Ty would have taken his predecessor's sub-500 squad and coached them up to 10-3 in his first year, then he could have been the beneficiary of this amazing Domer patience. [/ QUOTE ] Chuck went 9-3 his first year. hmmm...1 less loss = 10 year extension Not to mention, after 3 years Weiss will have a worse record. b |

[ QUOTE ]
There is no way to exaggerate the need for a full roster of talented players, but that alone will not guarantee championship level teams unless Weis is able to adapt and address the other basic deficiencies in his program. [/ QUOTE ] Why is it that the undertone is all the teams beating ND are just worldbeaters and top ranked teams? You don't need top rated talent to beat some of those teams, much less put up at least a decent fight and be competetive(see UW). Or even to score an offensive TD for god's sake. Re: This is also an offensive minded coach. A good coach doesn't need top talent for this. If that's what he needs, then I really question his ability as a coach. But hey, ND is playing national championship caliber every week I guess. [ QUOTE ] Despite his outward confidence and bravado, Weis is still learning the lessons of a head coach. The good news is that he appears capable of understanding his mistakes and fixing them, as he did last year with the defense. [/ QUOTE ] Yes, he's doing such a stellar job. b |

[ QUOTE ]
Why is it that the undertone is all the teams beating ND are just worldbeaters and top ranked teams? [/ QUOTE ] I don't often agree with Husky fans, but this point seems to have been completely lost on ND fans. Let's look at Notre Dame and their first opponent, Georgia Tech. Recall that Georgia Tech scored 33 points on Notre Dame, but Weis only managed to get his guys to put up 3 points on 122 yards with a whopping -8 yards rushing. Which team was able to recruit better talent? Here are the rankings for recruiting for the last five years according to rivals. Bold indicates a Willingham year. 2003 - ND 12 GT 50 2004 - ND 32 GT 56 2005 - ND 40 GT 62 2006 - ND 8 GT 57 2007 - ND 8 GT 18 So a team that got out-recruited in a big way every single year absolutely destroys Notre Dame and the blame goes not to the current coach in his third year but the guy that recruited the better talent. |

I've been waiting for that type of post with those comparisons.
Gold! It does seem that they think a #40(or anything outside of top #20) recruiting class is equivalent to being #100. Like no one can win with those classes. Well, teams are winning with worse classes. [ QUOTE ] I don't often agree with Husky fans, [/ QUOTE ] I'm not a typical Husky fan. My eyes see alot more than just purple. Well, Notre Dame does have the second toughest schedule in the country per sagarin.
