Can anyone comment on if V for Vendetta is any good? Worth the time or watch something else?

That looks like one of the ones I want to watch just to see what everyone's talking about.

I liked it an awful lot. Some people hate it though.

Saw an old friend tonight. He's quite the movie buff as well as an outdoorsman. Has done a lot of camping in wilderness areas including Alaska. Asked him if he'd seen Grizzly Man.

First thing he comes up with (unprompted) is that Treadwell was trying to hide from the fact he was gay. Of course this made me laugh. He thought Treadwell was quite the nutbar. Did way more harm than good by basically taming wildlife. Many others have of course said the same.

Although not an unknown gem by any means, I watched Cat People the other night. Simone Simon is wonderful, of course, but she might be even better in The Devil and Daniel Webster, a must-see film.

Saw both Stranger then Fiction and Borat for a second time this weekend.
None of them held up to greatness on a second viewing. Strangers ending is lacking and Borat's jokes weren't as funny the second time around (although I have to admit, we were all very tired after a full day of hiking and tired = less laughs).

Trouble in Paradise (1932)

I love stumbling across gems like this. An early romantic comedy that shames just about anything being done today.

I'm going to be looking for more Lubitsch now.

Saw it yesterday, put me in the "for" category.. I could have done without the revelations of the detective and other scenes basically telling everyone "okay, so if ur a bit confused, here's exactly what happened in the past to get up to this point".. It's kind of like the anti children of men.. one movie goes out of its way to explain everything with flashbacks and ther other goes out of its way to tell you absolutely nothing!

Other than that, it was quite entertaining and had a cool storyline, and Natalie Portman is beautiful and pretty good in this one.
