[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Palmer. Edit: by the way, we did the "2nd best qb of the last 5 years" thing and per DPAR, Brady is the #2 but not by much over guys like Palmer, Green, Bulger, and Brees. [/ QUOTE ] I think Palmer is the only reasonable (besides Brady) in the hypothetical, but I think the vast majority of NFL execs would take Brady over him (or anyone else, with Brees being the other top choice I think) They had very similar years in 2005, Palmer was better this year (although I don't think DPAR accounts for the fact that Brady played with an entirely new set of WR's this year), and Brady was a lot better in 2004. Brady is 29 Palmer is 27 [/ QUOTE ] Right now I would probably go Peyton Palmer Healthy McNabb (which isn't happening so it is moot) Brees Brady Bulger. Though there is a huge gap between 1 and 2. [/ QUOTE ] Nothing personal Pudge..but if Brady had Chad Johnson, TJ, Chad Henry, and Rudi Johnson instead of the chumps he has now...you wouldn't even question putting Brady at #2. It is easily 1.Manning 2. Brady 3. Palmer 4. Brees(but your gambling given he's had major shoulder surgery.) 5. McNabb 6. Cutler/Rivers...cuz they are young 7. Vick...with the right team/system Vick could be unstoppable. |

I think that many of you are underestimating just how much it helps to have great talent around you on offense. Things are so much easier when you have a guy like Chad Johnson or Marvin Harrison to throw to.

It's also easier to win titles when you have Seymour, Law, Bruschi, etc. on your D.

Pudge in 3/6 years since 2001, Jake Plummer has finished higher in DPAR than Tom Brady. I guess that means it's pretty much a toss-up between these 2 guys? [/ QUOTE ] Don't mess with Snake, he's gonna take the Texans to the playoffs next year.

[ QUOTE ]
How is it at all fair to penalize Palmer's first year as a starter (second in the league)? Were I to use common sense to adjust, I would realize that Palmer being so unusually above average for someone in only his first season is quite an accomplishment and likely a great indicator of future pwnage. I would then common sensically consider his superb 2nd season, his excellent third season, and his age and come to the obvious conclusions. [/ QUOTE ] Put Brady on the Bengals and Palmer on Pats next year...something tells me Palmer will be worse and Brady will be better...call me crazy but its just a hunch I have. |

i also forgot to mention that palmer's stats are depressed this season by those early struggles he had coming off the knee injury.

He was also without Henry for multiple games and Perry for most of the season.
