Now we have to move the knight back

While the threat looks good, 11.Bd2 quickly causes a lot of problems

i don't think curtains can play anything but Na3 at some point or he loses the a pawn. i'm not sure who is more advantages in that particular situation, but it is the only move i see.

Alright 11.Bd2 doesn't look like it works. However 11. Nc3 looks solid with a3 coming in the future which forces our knight to move back which means moving him to b4 was wasted

moving the knight back isn't so bad, we leave his knight stranded at a3 (and can still capture with our black bishop) and have developed our white bishop in the process.

Hi,

Bc5 isn't as good as Be7 because:

(1) It allows Be3 whereupon we have to either trade or move away. Hint: we don't want to trade.

(2) It allows Bg5 pinning our knight. This is a seriously nasty pin. We don't want our Q committed to defending the N.

Not all moves have to be aggressive. Attacking f2 doesn't achieve anything, the pawn is very well defended. The dark squared B is better suited to a defensive role in e7 right at the moment. Later c5 or b4 may be good squares for it, but at the moment they aren't.
