[ QUOTE ]
Do you think there is a fat gene?

[/ QUOTE ]

From the little I know about genes I'm sure there is at least 1 strongly connected with creating and retaining fat. I wouldn't be surprised if there is pretty good research already that maps a few genes as playing a role in the fat process.

[ QUOTE ]

Are some people destined to be fat?

[/ QUOTE ]

I firmly believe pretty much everyone can not be fat if they want to be. That being said, I'm sure there are exceptions. But my guess is the % of exceptions is negligible.

[ QUOTE ]

Is my fat friend fat because of his genes or it's because he's lazy and doesn't exercise?

[/ QUOTE ]

The latter. Genes certainly play a role but whatever, he's fat simply b/c he eats too many calories and doesn't burn enough.

[ QUOTE ]

What's the fastest time you ever run a mile?

[/ QUOTE ]

I've never ever timed myself. I'd imagine less than 10 minutes, .

[ QUOTE ]

What country you think is the porn capital of the world?

[/ QUOTE ]

The US? I'd guess we have the biggest market due to how repressed everyone is sexually plus the availability of internet.

[ QUOTE ]

Would you kill some one else's beloved dog for 100k?

[/ QUOTE ]

That seems pretty messed up. Your dog? Sure, .

[ QUOTE ]

You won't get caught though.

[/ QUOTE ]

Oh, I already assumed this, lol.

[ QUOTE ]

Do they have a caterpillar roll in Japan?

[/ QUOTE ]

I dno, it's prolly named with those weird symbols that don't mean anything to me though. So it's prolly called something like straight line, slanted line followed by 4 dots and separated by 3 horizontal lines.

[ QUOTE ]

I'm finally moving out of my parent's house to live with my buddies. What do you think we should share and what we shouldn't share.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't know you at all so it's hard to advise. Do you generally like sharing? I don't mind but really only share utility stuff and *sometimes* food, but only if I like the same stuff as my roomies.

[ QUOTE ]

In the beginning one of my house mate wanted to share toothpaste, water, and food.

[/ QUOTE ]

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. The toothpaste thing anyway.

[ QUOTE ]

I thought that is the stupidest [censored] ever so I said hell no.

[/ QUOTE ]

Word. Don't be one of those ppl who gets run over by everyone, .

[ QUOTE ]

I think that we should try to share the least stuff so we won't argue over it. What do you think?

[/ QUOTE ]

The fewer things you share the better honestly unless you really really need to save money. Sharing space and things like rent/utilities is more than enough to possibly fight over, .

[ QUOTE ]

Have you seen the VH1 tv show the pickup artist?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes. Yes I have.

[ QUOTE ]

Do you think it is real?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, of course it's real. It's going to be extremely edited and it's also likely ppl are going to be fed lines or helped with what they're saying by the show writers. But so far I haven't heard or seen anything that is remotely unreasonable.

I posted about my initial thoughts of the episode in that big OOT thread.

[ QUOTE ]

Do you think Las Vegas is located where it's at right now because it's hot there so people must stay inside to stay cool which causes people to gamble?

[/ QUOTE ]

Lol not really, I'm sure a quick search on the innanets will explain better than I could why a city was created there in the first place. It's a remote location for a reason so that ppl can escape into a different world of excess and debauchery.

[ QUOTE ]

Is david sklanksy good at poker?

[/ QUOTE ]

Extremely. He's also good at appreciate scrippaz. That's the only type of conversation I've ever had with him irl, ldo.

[ QUOTE ]

Can you tell the difference between 7up and sprite?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, I like Spite better b/c of teh sweet. If I want a bitterish kick I go for ginger ale, Canada dry (I knew those Canadians were useful for something!)

[ QUOTE ]

Do you think Jman became so good at poker because sacrificed so much?

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't think he's sacrificed anything he's interested in. Maybe he'd have more time to think about Philosophy or other types of things if he didn't spend so much time on poker...but I mean, he was never that interested in school to begin with.

[ QUOTE ]

Instead of going out with his friends he would stay home to study poker?

[/ QUOTE ]

Ehhh, he has a ton of friends, I really don't think he'd have gone out 2352344 times more if he hadn't gotten into poker. In fact, his life would likely be significantly more boring b/c he wouldn't have that wildstylez Vegas component.

[ QUOTE ]

Can we all become like Jman if we study?

[/ QUOTE ]

Unfortunately, probably not. We can all get better but he's really got the tools, the passion, and the motivation to be extremely good.

[ QUOTE ]

Do you think he works harder than all of us?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, that too. But a lot of it has to do with his drive and passion.

[ QUOTE ]

What's stop you from becoming Jman?

[/ QUOTE ]

I've never been motivated to BE THE BEST PERIOD at poker, nor do I have the raw passion for it he does.

[ QUOTE ]

Have you ever been to a strip club?

[/ QUOTE ]

Lol, this is like asking Barry Bonds if he's hit a home run before. Well, ok, not quite, but c'mon!

Yeah, I never actually went to one until like 2.5 years ago. Now I've been to a bunch, especially in Vegas. I've gone with huge VIP groups, small groups, groups containing several women, just myself and a special lady friend, just me and a buddy, never alone though. To me it's really a place that enhances hanging out with friends to begin with, not a destination that I need to be in for entertainment.

[ QUOTE ]

What are some of your favorite quotes?

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't collect quotes. But anything from Soren Kierkegaard and anything from Morihei Ushiba.

My catchphrase quote is: "Life is easy" which I coined myself, .

[ QUOTE ]

What you think are your greatest acomplishments so far in life?

[/ QUOTE ]

I have to come back to this one. Honestly I just love the person I've been able to become. I haven't always felt this way and it's an extremely liberating feeling to have day in an day out.

[ QUOTE ]

Do you really live life to the fullest every single day? What exactly does that mean? How do you do that?

[/ QUOTE ]

I try to, yes. But "fullest" is extremely subjective and to me it often simply means being as fully present as I can in everything I do.

One thing that has helped me IMMENSELY is writing a blog every day this year. I've written 195 blogs so far (yeah, not every day but whatever, lol) and I just focus on anything and everything that I feel is important to me in that moment or I need to work out. It's kept me on track and reminded of how I want to keep progressing internally and externally, that's for sure!

As far as living it every day...I face challenges from everywhere and I simply want to deal with them in a way that allows me to be happy most of the time as well as inject myself into my endeavors.

This is a great topic for a blog post so I will likely borrow it in the future, .

Does it really matter if barry bonds used steriods or not? I'm sure he was destined to be hall of fame before he was using. Do we need to be trained to appreciate high class food or is it suppose to taste good already? Is the reason why high class food taste better is because they give smaller portions which make it taste better? Don't you have to usally double your order or something to be full in a high class restaurant?

Do you think lacoste polo's are of better quality than GAP polo's or is it just the brand? I have two lacoste polo's and I'm wondering if I'm paying for the brand name or the quality?

Do you think you have to be smart be become rich? How come beer look so much better in comericals? I recently just turned 21 and I don't get what's all the fuss is about beer? When people drink beer they make it seem like it taste so good. When I drink it it is kind of nasty. I must be a pussy =0.

Do you think dieting is worth it if you are missing out on the best kind of foods in the world? Is that why I can never be on a diet longer than a couple of day? I love dragon rolls, steak, avocado burgers, garlic fries, chili hotdogs, pizza, pork bagogi and many other foods way too much! Is it worth missing out on all these food?

Can you actually cook? What is your daily routine?

Does it really matter if barry bonds used steriods or not?

[/ QUOTE ]

Not really, all this stat stuff needs to be looked at in time period chunks anyway and it's pretty clear so many people are/have been taking steroids in this era of MLB. He's taking the brunt b/c he's a huge jerk and has far and away the most impressive stats.

[/ QUOTE ]

[ QUOTE ]

I'm sure he was destined to be hall of fame before he was using.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah. The other thing is there's basically zero way to know how he may or may not have used steroids for enhancement. Like, you could just say every year he was amazing he was using, but he's been amazing almost every year of his career (even when he was skinny and *likely* not on steriods). Who friggin' knows?

[ QUOTE ]

Do we need to be trained to appreciate high class food or is it suppose to taste good already?

[/ QUOTE ]

Ehhh, I think it's like many things. You may love it instantly, you may develop a taste for it, or it may correspond to the type of "lifestyle" or "scene" that allows you to enjoy life. The resident STTF high dining guy is citanul. He simply love eating/drinking things that have a very rich, subtle, and well put together flavor.

[ QUOTE ]

Is the reason why high class food taste better is because they give smaller portions which make it taste better?

[/ QUOTE ]

Lol, no, not really. But they won't run into diminishing returns as much as other places. People likely eat slower and savor the food more as well. But, frankly, many of the most amazing meals I've had were definitely not "small portions"...maybe not ridic huge but I did not leave hungry.

Also, it allows you to have several different dishes that may all complement each other. That is one of the "secrets" of fine dining as far as I can tell. Everything is orchestrated to synergistically add to everything else.

[ QUOTE ]

Don't you have to usally double your order or something to be full in a high class restaurant?

[/ QUOTE ]

Lol, it depends. I dno, citanul is the dude to ask. I have not eaten in a ton of "high class restaurants" but you can get more food or...I have to admit once I went and got a milk shake at jack in the box on the way home once afterwards. Shows you how much I know about doing "fine dining" right, .

[ QUOTE ]

Do you think lacoste polo's are of better quality than GAP polo's or is it just the brand?

[/ QUOTE ]

My gay friend swears they are better quality and I'm inclined to believe him. I think it's likely marginal as is the case with almost any clothing comparisons. Frankly, get what you think looks good on yourself. I don't wear polos but if I did and lacoste had some baller colors I wanted, then I'd get that. If Gap was lookin' sharp on me I'd get it instead.

[ QUOTE ]

I have two lacoste polo's and I'm wondering if I'm paying for the brand name or the quality?

[/ QUOTE ]

Both. But let's face it, you are paying a large % of $$ for brand name no matter what you get. Even Gap polo shirts you are paying for brand. You can get no name ones cheaper for sure. This is basically how a capitalist society must work. Companies compete with almost identical products and must differentiate them based on feelings/perception rather than actual prodcut a lot of the time, .

[ QUOTE ]

Do you think you have to be smart be become rich?

[/ QUOTE ]

lol no but it helps

[ QUOTE ]

How come beer look so much better in comericals?

[/ QUOTE ]

Everything does in anything where ppl throw money to make something look good. Movies, TV shows, commercials, ads of any kind. Hell, if you had 5k to make your beer "look good" at every party I'm sure you could get it lookin' pretty fresh/crisp/chilled too!

[ QUOTE ]

I recently just turned 21 and I don't get what's all the fuss is about beer?

[/ QUOTE ]

People have a hard time feel free from limitations they place on themselves, generally in the form of limiting thoughts or beliefs. Things like alcohol help them essentially bypass these "chains" that are often subconsciously placed upon themselves.

Also, one can develop a "taste" for beer and actually really enjoy the flavor and how it combines with food and such.

[ QUOTE ]

When people drink beer they make it seem like it taste so good. When I drink it it is kind of nasty. I must be a pussy =0.

[/ QUOTE ]

lol, the first few times I had beer it WAS AWFUL. I had to buy wine coolers....WINE COOLERS! B/c I simply couldn't drink more than half a beer. So talk about pussy, .

[ QUOTE ]

Do you think dieting is worth it if you are missing out on the best kind of foods in the world?

[/ QUOTE ]

No. But the best kinds of foods in the world are relative to the person. You *can* (although the vast majority of ppl do not know how) re-program yourself to view "healthier" foods as "the best kind of foods in the world" which can help. If one is unwilling to do this (me!) then you can just east reasonable amounts of the best foods in the world.

[ QUOTE ]

Is that why I can never be on a diet longer than a couple of day?

[/ QUOTE ]

It's b/c you can't stop yourself from wanting to feel completely stuffed and likely link eating vast quantities of food to v enjoyable feelings of comfort/happiness/satisfaction.

[ QUOTE ]

I love dragon rolls, steak, avocado burgers, garlic fries, chili hotdogs, pizza, pork bagogi and many other foods way too much! Is it worth missing out on all these food?

[/ QUOTE ]

You definitely don't have to stop eating everything. You simply have to eat LESS OF IT and also find more balanced ways to eat it or to eat other better stuff a decent % of the time too.

[ QUOTE ]

Can you actually cook?

[/ QUOTE ]

I can if I care. I hate cooking alone....yet cooking with someone jointly isn't done often. So I simply don't end up cooking much. I have gone through periods where I do, and I make decent to good stuff. I'm certainly not excellent. My sister is close to excellent and I have her over often to cook for me! [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] lil' sis!

[ QUOTE ]

What is your daily routine?

[/ QUOTE ]

For food?

This is what it's supposed to look like:

I have a protein shake after exercising in the morning. I then have some sort of MRP (meal replacement) bar at work...but I don't care too much so it's usually a zone or balance bar - def not the most ideal.

I go out to lunch and if I've exercised earlier in the day I'm much more likely to eat HALF of whatever I order. then I eat the other half later near the end of work.

At home I microwave like a lean cuisine thing or make an easy dinner of like grilled chicken/salad or something.

Then later I often will have cottage cheese/yogurt, or another protein shake thing or something else that isn't too many calories.

What do I often do? Well today I woke up late, ate a zone bar at work, ate delicious tri-tip for lunch at Stonefire Grill with salad and breadsticks. I ate it ALL. Right now I ate some highly buttered popcorn (a couple handfuls) and a Cactus Cooler soda (I rarely drink soda but, this is really hitting the spot). Later tonight since I am not going out I will likely have something simple and easy like fruit and cheese or something.

So, slimon, I have a question for you now! Are you getting anything out of all these questions? If so, how do you feel it may be helpful?

Mostly, because gambling was legal in Nevada in the 1950's when Bugsy Siegel decided he wanted to stick a 5 million dollar swank hotel casino 3 miles from the downtown area of Las Vegas. which already had more than a few sawdust joint casinos. If not for Bugsy, maybe any of the other 500 or so gambling towns in Nevada would now be "Las Vegas", but fate smiled on the meadows.

FWIW, pretty sure most of the Strip actually isn't even IN Las Vegas proper, and is actually in Henderson, but I may be off on this.

The strip is unincorporated Clark County. (Daliman made a statement, not a question, which is why I am clarifying even though I am not Yugo).

OK let's go to Wikipedia:

"The name Las Vegas is often applied to the unincorporated areas of Clark County that surround the city, especially the resort areas on and near the Las Vegas Strip. This 4½ mi (7.2 km) stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard is mostly outside the Las Vegas city limits, in the unincorporated towns of Paradise and Winchester."

I'm not 100% sure that's right, but it's something like that I'm pretty sure.
