Try to transition to AIM early cause it's a lot easier than myspace messaging back and forth. My friend had some success with this, and could usefully contribute to this thread if he wasn't a one-man cockblock.

Just to give everyone an idea of what my current technique is I'll go through a recent messaging sequence.
I found a really hot girl who I'm sure gets tons of messages everyday from guys. first thing I notice that while she is really pretty her pics are not "give me attention types' which is good. She also has a picture of a goat with a caption about wanting a farm some day. I decide to use that. [ QUOTE ] I've always seen myself living on a big farm with various animals likes cows and sheep, yes sheep! no chickens though because of all the poop. Of course I would never sell my animals to people who would turn them into food, that's for other people's animals my farm animals would be pets. And I would have horses so I could ride around and say hi to them. I could have goats too. goats seem friendly........are you? Jeremy [/ QUOTE ] All I want to do here is stand out to her and be funny, I'm not asking questions instead im making statements about me but in this case in a I hope funny way. she sends me a friend request the next day and I leave her a comment the day after, which she returns. I notice in her profile that she says she likes 90's rock and that's her "getting old I guess" I think this is a good thing to use so I send her this. [ QUOTE ] How crazy is it to actually refer to 90's music as 90's music as if it's some ancient relic kept in some closet along with bell bottoms and The Power from He-Man and The Masters of the Universe. I know what you mean about it feeling as though you're getting old. Did you ever see that Flinstones episode where the young people who listened to "bug music" moved in next store and Fred and the gang were all "we hate bug music" "poo on bug music", sometimes I feel like that when I listen to new stuff. Maybe that's just me though. Who would have ever guessed that classics like Informer by Snow would be become dated and uncool? Not me, no way. Oh well A Licky Boom Boom Down....... Jeremy [/ QUOTE ] the next day I looked at her profile and in her music section it now reads "yo jeremy I hear ya" and she added the youtube video of Informer by Snow again a good sign and its gone from there I'll move over to msn/aim hopefully this week but regardless I think this a good example of trying to use specific things from profiles to stand out. |

[censored],
Well played all around. The most interesting thing is you choosing "Informer". We're about the same age and I haven't even THOUGHT about that song for at least five years, much less actually listened to it. Were you worried it would be too obscure of a reference? Anyway, please keep us posted. |

Tug,
I'm not even sure what caused me to think about it or the bug music reference from the Flinstones. I was brushing my teeth and the it just sort of came to me. I thought maybe there was a chance she wouldn't get the bug music reference but was pretty confident she would remember Informer. I mean who wouldn't really. |

I may have the new "inside"
I'm testing it now with 10 random messages. the line subject: It puts the lotion on its skin Body: or else it gets the hose again results to follow but I'm pretty sure this is a winner |
