Overall a horrendous session after some really good play earlier in the day. Quit early because I knew I wasn't feeling it. In the end finished up a little over 2 BI in 5480 hands, but was just horrible the last 1K hands, as I was up 7 BI around 4600 hands.

I take stuff too personally very often...... everytime I try and post stuff here that is helpful, because in reality I would like to see the people who are really working on their game (2+2'ers) improve and succeed, I didnt post for nearly 2 years b/c I don't like ego contests much, i've learned most of the things I know from this place and some friends i've been lucky enough to have, the whole point of what I was trying to say is mixing your game up and changing styles is very important, the only style i've ever played that wins at all levels is 19/16, i think its as close to optimal as it gets really, but even as low as 50nl there is a lot more metagame then people really consider and I feel i can beat any table at nl50, most of my tables have a few regs, and I like it that way, you are not going to become a better pokerplayer spending all your time trying to isolate donkeys, in the shortterm you will make more $ but its not going to improve your game any, i made some generalizations, but I think their are some huge concepts in their that in my personal opinion are key to beating nl50, over the long term, if your willing to put in 100k's of hands. I'm taking my sweet ass time moving up this time, I want to do it right, and im trying to become a student of the game and a teacher of what I have learned too, there will always be donkeys in microstakes that are the sole reason that everyone has money to make higher up. [/ QUOTE ]u dont want a dick waving contest to begin, yet all of ur posts seem to me like u r tryin to brag to anyone who will read them thus makin people call u out when u say out landish statements such as calling 3bets with KQ preflop. if u r truly lookin to help people then dont add in ur "i play more hands then n e one at stars and kill it and always win money" nonsense lines. |

Kaz, I agree. It seems like every now and then we get some guy in who nobody ever heard of before, posting some amazingly bad play like cold calling 23s on the button, who then responds to all the flames with the same two statements:
1. I used to play higher than you 2. You need to open up your game/You are too simple to get the point Then they get shot down and start complaining about dick swining and ego contests. To my mind that is just bare faced hypocrisy. There are a lot of awesome players out there who do a lot of wierd things, some of which may seem to be -EV, but are actually +EV as part of a wider strategy. I appreciate that some people like to share that knowledge, but the way that ssdex or whatever chose to do it sounds more like someone being condescending. "Look at my awesome play. PAH yeah I knew you wouldn't get it, you noobs, open your eyes" Instead of that, surely it would be better to write a well constructed and logical article explaining the theory of the post to us. If not I feel like it serves no useful purpose. |

Sorry for whining here, but gah, haven't been running so bad in a looong time and I need to get it off my chest.
This is my morning session: money expected (based on allin equity): 267.76$ money difference: -164.51$ Coolers and suckouts galore, and those are only the hands I went to town with. I had to give up a ton of pots where all kinds of draws came in on the river. No, not on the turn, no let me bet some more chips there and then let the draws come in on the river. Sigh. /whining |

No offence guys, suck outs are suck outs, but whats the point of this equity calculator? We are not playing against a hand, we are playing against a range and consequently our equity will have a huge margin, not to count for table dynamics.
Got berated today for 3betting with 75s, flopping two pairs and only betting half a pot on the flop. Apparently the guy with JJ who pushed all in played it better |

Sure they are only suckouts and coolers happen. That's not the point that annoys me. It's getting coolered & sucked out on in ~50% (yeah, I've checked that number) of pots recently that made me vent.
I'm well aware that some posters here may claim that I played badly and that's why I've lost so much, but I heartily disagree. I only added the equity misbalance (only earned 60% of what my actual equity was) to show the magnitude of how bad I'm running recently. I haven't been so far "off track" in a very, very long time. I'm not whining about every frikkin time I run bad, but when the [censored] hits the fan as hard as it did recently, I don't feel bad about venting for once. |
