Though if Joe Thomas drops past Cleveland, I'll be stunned.

$1 wager that barring a trade Thomas drops?

[/ QUOTE ]

So you're guessing who takes who? Russell, Quinn, CJ? CJ, Russell, Quinn?

Ya, some combo thereof. Or AP to Cleveland with one of these guys dropping. But I think if CJ is avail when Cleveland picks they'll have an easy trade down.

2 weeks ago I heard they were talking to Detroit about Al Wilson + picks for the #2 eying either J Thomas or CJ, both of whom I'd rather not see added to that offense. Obv this is off but are they int in Levi Brown?

That is way way to high and they so do not need a WR or a OT.

They are only after 2 things in moving up---stud DE or stud DT.

Their O-line is strong..no need for a tackle.

Round 1

1. Oakland Raiders: JaMarcus Russell, QB, LSU
2. Detroit Lions: Joe Thomas, OT, Wisconsin
3. Cleveland Browns: Brady Quinn, QB, Notre Dame
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Calvin Johnson, WR, Georgia Tech
5. Arizona Cardinals: Adrian Peterson, RB, Oklahoma
6. Washington Redskins: Gaines Adams, DE, Clemson
7. Minnesota Vikings: LaRon Landry, S, LSU
8. Atlanta Falcons (from Houston): Levi Brown, OT, Penn State
9. Miami Dolphins: Jamaal Anderson, DE, Arkansas
10. Houston Texans: Trade out of the spot w/ Denver

[/ QUOTE ]

The Lions committed themselves to Foster and Backus as their starting offensive tackles. Joe Thomas will not be their pick. Either CJ or Brady Quinn.

The Cardinals already have Edgerrin James signed to a fat contract. There's no reason to draft an injury-prone, straight up running back in the top 5...unless you want another Ki-Jana Carter.

[/ QUOTE ]

The Lions took WRs w/ the 2nd, 7th and 10th picks in consecutive drafts so I don't think they'd shock anyone by drafting Joe Thomas, even if they do have two starting tackles right now.

Lots of teams are moving to the two back attack and Arizona could be one of them by drafting AP.

Neither of these are likely but I don't think you can rule them out altogether.

Gaines is the more likely pick but I could so Wiz wanting to take AP if he is there.

Brown or any of the big DL guys makes sense. Outside of the DL their defense is sick... Shanahan has been playing the quantity > quality game at DL for a few years, but they could really use a solid pass rusher.

/edit They could also want Laron Landry.

They have a serviceable back up in JJ Arington. They used him quite a bit last year. Taking AP would be absolutely moronic but I wouldn't put it past them.
