The Celts are in a tough spot, because they have sucked so long it's hard to ask the fans to be patient and if they do they aren't going to sell any tickets.

[/ QUOTE ]

the Celtics sold a ton of tickets last year, considering how bad they were.

this trade would have sucked.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah I was surprised that even late in the season, there was good attendance.

I'm guessing the $10 tickets didnt hurt.

Apparently Danny has narrowed it down to six players:

Corey Brewer, Al Thornton, Brandan Wright, Jeff Green, Yi Jianlin, and Al Horford.

Yuck.

We really need to trade for a Shawn Marion or Jermaine O'Neal. If we don't have enough for that, I'll settle for Zach Randolph. Just someone who can put the ball in the hole besides Pierce and Big Al.

Personally, I think Jermaine complements Big Al perfectly.

Thoughts from other resident Celtic fans? I really don't think any of these rookies are ready to come in and start.

[/ QUOTE ]

Jermaine = not so good.

Marion on the other hand is a great fit for the Celtics.

I'd rather have Marion than O'Neal, for sure. I think Jermaine would crowd it up too much for Al.

But it sounds like Marion may not want to play in Boston, either.

Is Rashard Lewis still a possibility? I really liked that one. What about Joe Johnson?

What exactly do the Celtics have to offer that any of these teams are gonna take for a player like O'Neal or Marion that doesn't involve Jefferson?

I'd guess Phoenix would take Green and the #5 for Marion. May need to include Wally for salary, but who cares. Wally is useless. Phoenix has cap issues and some young depth with upside wouldn't bee the worse thing in the world for them. Green would fit well for them I think.

Getting Wally would not solve their salary problems. He still has 2 years on his contract. Ratliff is a much more resirable contract with just aobut the same crappy production.

But isn't Marion more likely to be traded for KG.

Marion isn't likely to be traded for KG unless it becomes a 3 way deal type thing. He's not that young and his contract is up. He'd probably flee 'Sota after the season. Any PHX/MN deal would include Amare.

If these all-stars don't want to come to Boston, so be it. I don't want any malcontents.

Getting guys who want to play hard and play hard for Boston is key. The East will be wide open again next year, and a healthy Celtics team will be playoff quality.

I want to get Big Al locked up for as long as possible. Are the C's gonna do that this summer?
