I'm guessing ~$20k in the pot on the flop (Daniel bet 12k), 24k goes in on flop, 36k on turn. So $80k in there on the river, final pot was $130k. The guy is getting $105k to $25k on the river call. Worse hands than Daniel's will probably call the river bet but will never bluff, so I think he's correct to bet the river.

A lot happens in these hands that we don't know about. Daniel probably sensed the guy did not like the river card, thought he might be behind, so he put the guy to the test for his tournament life.
