Now you are just bringing up some dude that won the equivalent of two sit and goes. Try to keep this discussion serious.

suited, I'm sure someone has posted here the amazing bluff that Madsen pulled with HIS WHOLE BANKROLL on the line. By comparison, Ivy's move is no big deal. [/ QUOTE ] whole bankroll? how was his whole bankroll at a tourney table? plus I don't think he got reraised TWICE |

suited,
Jeff Madsen used his whole bankroll to buy into the WSOP tourney. As for how many times he was reraised, perhaps it's just that he strikes more fear into opponents than Ivy does. |

What about Johnny Moss? Would you leave George Washington off of Mt. Rushmore? I think not. [/ QUOTE ] If I was carving Mount Rushmore today I may. It was far easier to be a hero back when there were only 13 "colonies" (debatable this is even a word- I think the US has had states since the Nina, Pinta, and the Santa Maria landed at Plymouth Rock and ran up the US flag) and fewer people. It was easier to stand out. If Mount Rushmore were to be redone today- Jefferson and Lincoln likely make the grade- but Jeff Madsen would get strong consideration over Washington. Madsen's accomplishments are that important/historical. The fourth spot would obviously be a tossup between Snoop and Jean Gluck. |

Ungar, '80, the coverage of the WSOP, he's standing up after his AQ wins. Commentator's just starting the interview, he's standing there, there's a moment when the graphic for the 375K appears. He's rubbing his nose, once, and going into the whole body movement thing.
The '90 series, Day 3, found in his room OD'd, is blinded off and still manages a freaking ninth. The '97 series, the final hand. Nonchalantly tosses his A4 when A8 is flipped HU, A53 flop, and rivers a gutshot to beat the Dead Man's Hand. |

Thats not poker, thats just gambling. The "Best Tournament Player of All Time" is going to have some bracelets in real poker games. |

[/ QUOTE ] I downloaded a webcast for my ApplePod and listened to an interview with Phil Ivey. He said very clearly that he won all of his bracelets at "The Big Game" which is for cash games players. Which means he must primarily be a cash games player. This poll is for tournament legends like Hellmuth, Chan, and Madsen. |

big,
I think you might be confusing Ivy's tournament play in Monte Carlo with WSOP. He apparently played a Monte Carlo tournament, but I don't think Ivy has ever played in the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. |
