I am quite impressed. Collectively, 2+2/OOT as a whole in this thread has demonstrated some excellent research and investigation skills. Keep up the good work.

If only there was some way to harness this power for good (although I believe getting to the bottom of this is good) we could easily find a cure for cancer . . . or help OJ find the real killer.

[/ QUOTE ]

I helped OJ find the real killer- I sent him one of these.

Someone needs to go stake out the Hollywood address- maybe send a pizza over and see if anyone answers the door. You bastards have gotten me invested in this whole debacle- I need closure, dammit!

i would guess he's not in la.

he's probably here in vegas - and he may even have been in a minor accident....it's the epic yarn that's being spread that everyone takes issue with.

**Side note - I run a camera and edit on the TV show "Cheaters" here in Dallas**

Chris from Myspace here... After getting back from my small event at the WSOP and having a great experience with every poker player I encountered (pros and guys like me), it's sick looking at all the hate going on here.

I'm sick to my stomach reading the haterade posts about Kwaz. We're talking about a guy who could be seriously hurt, and it's tough to read the completely desensitized comments that some people are posting here. I'll be the first to eat my words if Kwaz is scamming, but get some hard evidence before you rip a guy who could be seriously hurt. A group of you have already all but completely shut down his myspace forum, and I think it's sick to continue to berate a player who could seriously be hurt. Look up his address and show up with a camera a-la "Cheaters"? It's one thing to push someone's buttons online, but when you talk about showing up on someone's doorstep, that's some serious harassment.

After coming back from the Rio and meeting some of the guys that the 2+2 OOT people claim as their own (Raymer, etc.), I know that the true players really do respect and care about each other. I wish that you would do the same.

[/ QUOTE ]

Chris,

You are right in that there has been some disrespect posted on this thread. Some of it is probably in poor taste, but if you'll notice, the first few posts on the thread showed concern for his well-being.

After someone pointed out the discrepancy between Mr. Kozar's accident on 7/7/05 and his performing in the WSOP on 7/8/05 to early AM 7/9/05 people started getting riled up.

Without looking back at what people have written, I think it's not unreasonable if you think some of the comments are in bad taste.

But all this would have been nipped in the bud if ANY verifiable information had come out. Kwazar's fundraising friend won't disclose the hospital name (and in one e-mail claims to not know the hospital name). Kwazar's fundraising friend also says there's a explanation to the timeline discrepancy listed above -- but won't provide the simple explanation. Another poster here says he called all the LV hospitals and found no one by Mr. Kozar's name listed.

It is entirely reasonable that these issues will be explained, and all we'll have learned is that Kwazar's friend played in his place at the WSOP and that everything else has simply been poorly communicated in a time of grief and stress by friends and family.

Frankly, because the injuries as described are so significant, I would almost find it a relief for his physical well-being to find out it is a scam.

[/ QUOTE ]

You express my thoughts exactly. Good post.

I don't know who this Kwazar is, but the issue is still entertaining to follow.

The issue is pretty clear. These two things can not be true:
1) Kwazar played in the WSOP as described.
2) Kwazar has been in the ICU since before the WSOP started.

My guesses:
1) Fraud on WSOP: Kwazar was in an accident and someone used a FAKE ID to play in his place by arrangement.

OR

2) Fraud on myspace: Kwazar played in the WSOP because he was not in an accident.

[/ QUOTE ]

It's really interesting, because in THIS THREAD Kwazar proclaims his distaste for fraud several times over.

Now an Infection...

[ QUOTE ]

Surgery yesterday

Kwazar went in late yesterday afternoon for the skin graft on his right leg.

Unfortunately, the doctors found some infection in the leg and weren't able to finish the graft. He'll have to go back in later. They cleaned the infection out and will have to wait for him to heal a bit more.

I've started to receive some of the cards and checks people have mailed in. I'll try to email everyone as I get them so that you'll know they've arrived. Checks will go directly into the bank and cards will be put together and sent to him probably this week. I think Rick (the one who's been at the hospital with him since day 1) is planning to be in LA this week, so I'll give them to him and he'll happily take them back to Vegas to give to Keith.

Someone asked me yesterday where they could send flowers and such. He can't have that while he's in ICU, but as soon as he gets out I'll be glad to let anyone who wants to know where to send stuff. Just let me know

So there ya go..

[/ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ]

Haha, he'll "happily" go put them in the bank. Yeah I bet. This story is just stupid on all levels.

I believe everyone. Now I'm just concerned with the RIO/Cardplayer and Pokerstars frauding the poker playing public.

Any guesses as to whether this is an actual KWAZ-fan or gimmick account?

In any case, we'll settle for any evidence that he's actually hurt. Anything? Anything? No? Easier to just keep denying it's a scam?
