Please dont call it an Ents forum, the Ents dont need one and it would be boring as it would all be pleas to try and find the ent wives and best methods for growing trees etc. Plus all the posts would be too long.
I think taking out films/music etc is ripping out too much from OOT. Yes there is a lot of posts in OOT and a lot of it is crap but its up to us posters ourselves to ensure that the quality posts keep to the top and the crap doesnt get bumped and goes to the bottom. If you see a crap post ignore it and dont reply people will then hopefully start to think and improve their posts to get a response, too often crap posts get bumped with people adding inane comments instead of letting it die. The thing about reviews are that unless there is somthing contraversial or really up for debate then all you can add is great review I agree. Unless we want to go high brow about things and start really dissecting some of the films, I suspect those wanting to do that would be better look at specialized forums on those subjects. |

Movies generate discussion if people are interested in discussing them. As simple as that. V for Vendetta thread Second V for Vendetta review thread |

the pro-splitters believe lots of people would love to discuss the subjects but won't do so in oot. [/ QUOTE ] I haven't read this thread, but I don't know why this would be/is true. |

db, As for moving between forums, you should note that there are a number of people like me who used to frequently participate in sports and politics and "things that fall into SMP" discussions when they were in OOT, but don't frequent those forums post-split. [/ QUOTE ] I for one don't really care either way..though I would like all the religion discussions seperate from the science/math/history discussions but thats another story. but what I'm curious about is your statement El D. Why if you enjoyed discussing the sports and politics topics would you still not enjoy them eventhough they are now in a different section? Do you think they take a different tone because of the move, or is it just because you don't want to bother clicking on Sporting Events? anyways..just curious why u think/or the reason this is the case---"people like me who used to frequently participate in sports and politics and "things that fall into SMP" discussions when they were in OOT, but don't frequent those forums post-split" |

Any possibility the A&E forum could be created on a trial basis? ...with the understanding A&E content could still be posted in OOT during this trial period?
I don't know. I don't really have strong feelings either way on this issue. I was just trying to find a compromise. |

[/ QUOTE ] Not a bad idea, and in related news it turns out that people who want an A&E forum also pronounce "OOT" as in rhymes with "boot". Lame. Might as well let them go. |

if this split happens I think we need a sex & relationships forum as well as a trip reports forum, as well as a NSFW forum. I think these would all be good additions as I have hesitated writing several trip reports cause they get buried too fast. oh [censored] gotta add a fast food forum, I'd hate to have an In-N-Out thread fall off the first page.

As long as the A&E forum is limited to discussing shows/content on the A&E Network then I say it sounds good. I like being able to read about how the "A-Team was underrated" right next to the "A girl actually spoke to me" post.

Don't split. If people are interested, they will respond. That being said, I finally saw "Crash" this weekend and I have to saw that it was among the top ten worst "art" movies I have ever seen. Falling Down whups its ass with a belt.
