Dude, for real, post an example. You say that hands don't get the discussion they deserve, therefore high stakes players don't post anymore.

SHOW US AN EXAMPLE

It's a totally crap argument until you can produce at least some evidence to support it.

I've already stated why no result to this experiment will prove anything.

No, you stated why posting new hands would not prove anything.

I'm saying you should go back through previous posts that you or someone else made, pull it up, and say, "Look, here's a hand that should have created lots of discussion, but instead it was crap."

That's a totally different "experiment," and is based on your conjecture that high level players don't post because they know the resulting discussion won't be any good. I just want to see a hand or two where that has actually happened.

This has probably been discussed, but FWIW, the level of OT posts here is ridiculous. I mean, I understand the idea of building a community and a great number of friendships exist here, but I think it's detrimental to the board. This board is primarily here for learning and if it was split and modeled after some of the other boards, it would be much more beneficial for everyone's games.

[/ QUOTE ]

Are you suggesting an OT forum and a strategy forum? Certainly you wouldn't be implying that a low stakes forum should get all the OT posts dumped on them and a HS forum should/would be all strategy, right?

splitting the forums up won't make the clutter magically disappear. And if the forum does split, people better not use a low stakes forum simply as a place to make every OT post they wish.

This would be unlikely to happen, since as others have pointed out, many of the OT posts are from the higher-limit players themselves, and they post them here because this is where they read. If they're just reading high stakes - and I think many, though not all, would - then that's where it will go.

I say we take baby steps and try a sticky thread with a 215+er posting a hand for discussion. We give it a weeks worth of discussion and see how it works out.
