I hope you find the working world as exciting and fulfilling as the poker world. As someone who has been in both my adivce is dont get your hopes up. As long as someone else signs your paycheck you have to put with their [censored] and that ALWAYS sucks

la,

CoaEH was interesting subject material imo, but I agree not very well written. I believe my review was "OK, worth a read if you find the topic interesting."

Of your top 10 (read them all), the only three I think are really outstanding books are:

huck finn
liars poker
in cold blood

Given your list, I'm kinda surprised Barbarians at the Gate wasn't on it.

So, let me rephrase. You should try reading more books by writers instead of journalists.

Here are some books you might like if you haven't read them already:

The Soul of a Chef (Ruhlman)
The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay (Chabon)
Motherless Brooklyn (Lethem)
Under the Banner of Heaven (Krakauer)
Pastoralia (Saunders)
The Kite Runner (Hosseini)
High Fidelity (Hornby)

I'm curious about your opinion of any of those you've read.

True, it is an old line - still, half the humor is that it's KKF.

In case anybody just glossed over this, "When Genius Failed" should be required reading for most of the people in this thread...
