Condi Rice lands in Beirut, on an unannounced visit...she is now expected to meet with Prime Minister Fouad Siniora.

Condi is scheduled to visit Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert in Israel and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in the West Bank.

Traveling with her are U.S. Assistant Secretary for Near Eastern Affairs David Welch and deputy national security advisor Elliot Abrams. They are scheduled to stay in the MidEast when Condi travels to Rome later in the week.

Infantry soldiers from the Golani Brigade of the Israel Defense Forces entered the southern Lebanese village of Bint Jbail on Monday afternoon... Large numbers of forces crossed the border Sunday night as the IDF expanded its presence in southern Lebanon.

The IDF believes Bint Jubeil is an important weapons storage area for Hezbollah, with tunnels, bunkers and caves holding large supplies of missiles, rockets, and launchers, military sources told CNN.

"There are large numbers of explosive devices and mines in the area, and heavy fire is being exchanged," said IDF spokeswoman Miri Regev.

The IAF, along with Southern Command, struck a weapons storehouse belonging to the Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip on Monday.

Palestinians reported that explosions ensued in the Zeitoun neighborhood.

UN humanitarian chief Jan Egeland made an emergency appeal for $150 million dollars in humanitarian aid to help Lebanon through the next three months, following the damage caused by Israel's offensive.
