I was down to 4 BB's in last night's $11 Rebuy after my AKs ran into AA's w Blinds at 1500/3000. LAG raises my BB, i put the rest in w T9s. He has AQ and I spike a T on the river. 5 hours later I chop HU for $12K+.

It had been a rough two weeks. No moneys in any tournaments - but this hopefully is the beginning of a nice run. Would be a good time to have it, with the Poker Room Grand this weekend.

Now, it's easy for me to say that it's been all bad luck, but that's not true. I've made some horrible decisions during the past two weeks. I don't think it's a stretch to say that until yesterday, at least once a day I had made a move that, IMMEDIATELY upon clicking the action, I said "wtf? that was ridiculous." On some of the occasions I said that AS I did the action. Yesterday in the 45k I had none of those. I don't think I made one poor decision all tournament.

Even the hand that crippled me wasn't a bad decision. This is the last hand at the 10k/20k level, 15k/30k follows. The players on my left seemed quite tight in the time I'd been with them:

So there I sat for 5 minutes with 1898 left, blinds 15k/30k with a 1500 ante. I was fortunate to pick up AJ and get protection from QJ - the ace played. I got to 12k. I took a hand off, then "pushed" with TT and won a flip from KJ - moving into the top 27 at the same time, which was a nice accomplishment considering. That got me to 48k. Next hand, UTG+1, I push with K2 of spades. I ran into AJ and AK, but the board made a club flush, and no one had a club. I took 56k. UTG with K9, I put it in again, ran into AQ, and flopped the straight - 168k. Just like that.

I folded my blinds, pushed A8s and AKo in the next orbit, folded my blinds again, then pushed A8, A9 and AA on consecutive hands (showing the AA). I was hoping someone got sick of it, but no luck. I folded the blinds again, pushed AT, when it got back to my big blind. My stack got to 340k by this point, and the guy who limped was an enormous stack...

The folks rooting for me are mostly 2+2ers who got wind of my comeback.

That was about as interesting as it got. I won a big coinflip with 88 v. AK to put me over a million, but I used up all my big hands to get there, as I didn't pick up much from there on out. I tried to steal to sustain the stack, but I got more action than I wanted from them, and leaked down to 600k, when I went out.

Apparently, I was the talisman, because the player that busted me won.

Hell of a ride it was.

I had that table open and saw that whole thing unfold. It was as crazy to watch as I am sure it was to actually play.

I busted out sixth in a small(for most of you ) event over at Tribeca, a 3K guarantee. I stick around to watch it play out. When it gets heads up the chip leader has about a 17 to 1 chip lead. Having played with him a few times I wonder if that is enough. As it turns out it isnt. With the short stack having just over 2 blinds the leader open folds his small blind. Now the shorty moves in next hand and the chip leader types something ridiculous like "T8 gh" and folds getting better than 2-1 to possibly end the game.
It still is a massive lead though, until the big stack decides to push A2 two hands later and gets called by A9. Game on. The chip leader goes into calling mode apparently now trying to just end it. And shortly afterwards it ends- with the heads up shorty winning.
The most amazing thing wasnt the comeback size. It was the fact the leader may not have played a single hand correctly once they got heads up. And the entire comeback only took about 10 minutes total.

I was in a Stars $20/180 about an hour in with @2000 chips. I unexpectedly had to leave to pick up my son. When I returned I was down to about 400 chips and in 80th place out of 80 left. My first hand sitting down I was on the big blind which was about half my chips with j,k. Called all in and tripled up with a straight. The very next hand got A,A and double up again to get to about average chip stack. Was chip leader with 5 left and got sucked out on and finished 5th.
