I was always under the assumption that whatever the father was, the child was..
Meh. Old Hebrew Law is that the child is what the mother is. In other words, Jewish father, Gentile mother, the child is not Jewish. Gentile father, Jewish mother, the child is Jewish.

Well, I'm certainly not up to date with with Old Hebrew Law, I admit that.... But if a black father and a white mother have a child, I think there are few and far between in the United States that considers that child white....
Of course, I think all races are equal, they all have their positives and negatives..... But why are some races more inclined to financial success and technological development than other races????? And I don't want to hear about the resources they have now.... I want more detail about how they got to where they are now???? Is China the next superpower, or has that already been established sinced they have been accused of stealing the United States technoligical secrets????

[/ QUOTE ] You realize that there have volumes and volumes of work dedicated to answering this question, right? There isn't a simple answer. I would suggest checking out five or six books from the library.
