The total dollars are going to be higher since these numbers are from those who gave >$200 and recorded their military branch

I don't know if this is true. Look at Brownback's numbers --- if it was only people who gave more than $200 how does he show $71? Also, assume that it is those who only gave $200 or more. Are you suggesting that it is somehow newsworthy that he got 120 military employees to give $200 or more to his campaign (and that's rounding up.) This is just complete non-news.

What it looks like is that donations over 200$ are required to have the occupation listed, and under its optional. So these are donations where the occupation is listed which should include all over 200$ and some under as well.

As far as it being a non issue, its another indicator that ron paul has support from those who are actively involved in politics. People who donate are much more likely to vote than those people randomly called in polls. Its nothing that would cause me to put money down on Ron Paul though.

I would say it's newsworthy when a peace candidate receives more contributions from the military than any of the other war candidates; since the military is as a general rule pro war.

Clearly you have never talked to someone in the military.

Me: So, what's the general opinion of the guys you know about the iraq war?
Him: Don't really give a [censored]. Just wanna get the [censored] home ASAP.
