"I've been a big AJ fan since he's come into prominence, I love stories about his slow decision making putting his opponents on tilt. And I liked it too when he said his results probably exceeded his ability, but he was clear to say that he thinks he's a very good player. I'd love to hear DN say something as grounded as that.. "
When DN was on his streak in '04, he said many similar things. Paul Phillips did this as well. You won't hear many people outside of Hellmuth proclaiming themselves to be the hottest [censored] since sliced bread. |

I also think AJ is a great player...BUT...
Do you think that he said "my results overestimate my skill" because he honestly believes that or he is just trying to remain humble for the cameras. I'm sure he KNOWS he fking destroys tournies and he is one of the best out there. But if he actually said something like that we'd all be hating on him even if it was true. If I was in AJ's position I would say the same thing he did to remain humble and liked by the poker community. I don't see the sense in trying to build yourself up by TALKING a big game. His results speak for itself....and I'm sure he knows that. Overall, good play by him. He def seems like one of the most "grounded" players out there and will never get sidetracked into all the BS. |

[ QUOTE ]
On the WSOP broadcast last Tuesday, Alex admitted that his "tournament results probably exceeded his poker skills". [/ QUOTE ] I think that was pretty obvious just by looking at the horrible reads he got on that Irish douche bag that ran away from the table everytime he was all in, what a dirt bag low class Irish prick. |

[/ QUOTE ] yea that would have pissed me off. "I'm all in." - Ireland player runs away from table immediately. I can't believe thats even allowed. He might as well sit in a back room and use buttons to push fold b/c he's never at the table anyways. |

whenever aj goes deep in a tourney all he ever says is that he's running hotter than the sun and what a joke tournaments are. very refreshing considering 90% of the other young players with his success think they are god's gift to tournament poker.

[ QUOTE ] "Shannon Shorr blogging about how terrible players x,y and z are" [/ QUOTE ] He has slammed Humberto Brenes, Rene Angelil, and this is quoted from his blog "I was happy to see a very bad French player named Paul Testud two to my left though, because he is really a bleeder." [/ QUOTE ] >>>
