put 13k into an investment account

use the other 1k to get a 20" lcd, pokertracker and some books then deposit $50 into one of the sites with nano limits, start playing 5c/10c and work your way from there

Thank you to all who have replied with some sound advice. I merely advertised I had a bank roll of $14000 to indicate I do not need to play at the micro limits and also to make sure I am given advice that one may not necessarily be given if people perceive him/her to have little or no money such as details on a coach or decent software etc.
I think I should apologize for asking such vague questions. I should have been more precise.
"Q1. What is the best way to get started?" --- Should one opt for a coach before playing with real money? Should I practise with Poker Academy or other learning aids? Are there any other learning aids? Which is the best limit to start at considering I have a decent bank roll. I ask this because I am under the impression that in the lower limits any hand goes and play is very inconsistent. It is not until limits 3/6 and upwards that a skilled player may beat a less skilled player.
Q2 - ANSWERED!! So thank you.
"Q3: Is there any real difference in play on any of the sites?" --- Which sites have the highest fish:shark ratio in favour of sharks? Would one be wise to assume Party and Stars have the largest number of fish as they have the largest number of players. Which sites offer the best rakeback deals and bonuses? Is there anything else I should look for in a site other than what I have stated above?
Q4: Apart from having a good poker strategy will I need to be efficient in anything else to become a successful player?
--- Such as the use of software (PokerOffice, PokerEdge), table selection etc. Where will I be able to find more information on this? What can I do further to increase my edge on other players?
Q5: Details on coaches would be much appreciated. So far have only been in contact with two potential coaches. Are there any threads or sites that are dedicated to coaching info? What information should one request from a coach to determine their ability as a player and a coach?

I hope I have been specific enough this time. I look forward to all feedback. Thank you all.

Shaz

Congrats. After being here several years you are only the third person I have selected for this honor. Considering some of the awesome trolls around these forums, a stunning achievement.

Shazzy,

I suggest you spend it developing software that will auto-post multiple threads in 2+2 on every board at very regular time intervals. Make sure they cover topics that have already been discussed ad nauseam or are just plain stupid.
