I sent my letter - how porn, child porn, Nazi sites, KKK sites, NAACP, and other hate organizations can be on the net and they worry about poker. Unreal

Word. I took a more direct approach, but stole your last paragraph.

Dear Representative XXXXX,

I am writing you in regard to H.R. 4777: The Internet Gambling Prohibition Act being introduced by Reps. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) and Rick Boucher (D-VA).

I wish to inform you that I am STRONGLY OPPOSED to this bill and among my friends, family, and business associates, my view is not in the minority. We will be watching your vote on this matter closely as it will greatly influence our future votes in the 10th district.

Please speak for the majority of the citizens in your district and vote against this bill.

Sent the emails. Thanks for writing these.

Are the poker sites doing anything to combat this bill?

Because if they aren't they should be even if they think it will be tied up in commitee for awhile (or if they believe it has little chance of passing).

I know party supports the Players Alliance but this seems pretty serious.

They should all have a popup upon logging in that tells their US based customers about the act and to write their representatives.

Bottom line is a billion dollar industry with the millions of customers that the sites have in the US should be able to put up one helluva fight to stop any prohibition.
