Thanks for all the info! I think we're gonna go with the Wynn since I've never been and would like to try it. Any advice on getting a comp or at least a line pass for Sunday brunch? I'm a poker player, but there will be 5 of us in the group. Thanks.

I stayed there about 10 months ago and signed up for a Red Card, had to get x number of points on the card within 24 hours and got two free buffets and sunday was included.
Don't remember what "x" was exactly, but took maybe 45 minutes of 25cent 5 coin video poker to do. It wasn't an "advertised" thing, but someone else told me about so I asked and they did it for me. YMMV but worth asking about.

Do you happen to know if poker room time counts towards the same type of points as slot play?

Nah, totally separate. I've never actually turned in my hours at poker at Wynn - I have maybe 60 - but those were totally separate.

Actually now that I think about it, my wife had to sign up for the card as a "new player" since I already had a card I only used for the poker room and it was a new player bonus only - so maybe head to the slot promotions desk first when you get there and ask if they have any deals.

Thanks. I probably have almost the same number of poker hours. Should be good for a cheeseburger comp.

Hey guys,

Bit of a thread hijack here, I apologize.

I'm going to Vegas for WSOP and I'm wondering which buffet is good for a pizza and wings sort of guy. I don't like "fancy" food

Any help would be great.

Ryan

I'd skip the buffets and just get pizza and wings then. I havent had good pizza at a buffet yet, but I do recall the Bellagio's pizza being ok.

Orleans and Gold Coast (almost identical buffets). Basic meat and tatters and it's never given me food poisoning. Like $7 for breakfast, $9 for lunch, $14 for dinner (pretty good deals for breakfast and lunch, not such a great price for dinner but they aren't robbing you). GC is across the street from the Rio (though on the far side from the Pavilion where the WSOP events happen).

But for $22 at Harrah's (or $24 at Rio or $25 at Paris) you get better beef and they throw in crab legs. Since mostly I consider a buffet to be all you can eat beef and crab legs with oh-by-the-way some other stuff, I don't visit Orleans or GC often unless I'm still awake playing poker at 8am and want breakfast. But I've had some trouble keeping friends who visit from dragging me there every other day ("but it's cheap and it's good" / "yeah, but for $6 more you get CRAB LEGS").

If you have a car, Main Street Station downtown has a pretty good buffet that is like $5 breakfast, $7.50 lunch, $10 dinner. Be warned that dinner is different each night and can be more expensive on seafood and all you can eat steak nights. Its about a 10 minute drive from Rio in non traffic hours, too long/difficult to bother with in traffic hours.

The other post about the Orleans and GC is correct. Orleans has a mongolian station and a chinese stir fry station also that are pretty good. GC is walking distance, Orleans is 5 minute drive.
