All,

I think the winner will be between 75-100 pieces.

Count me in for the SF contingent.

i'll be a huge underdog,
but I plan to make up for it in prop bets

This calls for SUSHI PARADE.

I don't have the bankroll to be down, but I feel like I would be a strong contender.

El Diablo -

I would like to suggest a rule to make this contest less likely to be terrible.

Rule #1: You may only eat count each type of sushi that you eat as a single piece.

Example:

El Diablo and chopstick go to Sushi-a-go-go, El Diablo's secretly favorite sushi location.

El Diablo orders ten pieces of spicy tuna nigiri and a couple of pieces of unagi nigiri. He also orders a California roll.

chopstick orders avocado maki, and two pieces each of hamachi nigiri, magura nigiri, and tamago nigiri.

El Diablo has 12 pieces of nigiri in front of him, as well as a roll. chopstick has a roll, and 6 pieces of nigiri.

chopstick is the winner, even though El Diablo has more sushi on his plate.

chopstick: 4 points, 1 for each type of sushi.
El Diablo: 3 points, 1 for each type of sushi.

This plate would generate 7 points, even though there are 12 pieces on it.

chopstick,

<same vein>
If you are afraid to compete, I completely understand and do not judge you for it.

Testing stomach capacity just doesn't seem as fun as trying a bunch of different stuff.

I was thinking of another EDGD project - cuisine field trips. Pick a cuisine for the week, and everyone tries it, then we post trip reports. Photos required. Preference given to restaurant locations so that others can try the same thing, but home cooking allowed if it's amazing.

Some basics required for trip report:
Location information (name of restaurant, address, etc)
Photos (exterior and interior of restaurant, all courses)
Discussion (thoughts on food, service, misc)

Some cuisine types:
Jamaican, Korean, Indian, Italian, Peruvian, American, etc.

I'm in.

There are decent all you can eat sushi places in socal - obviously not the best ever, but most cost efficient for something like this. Runs around $20 for all you can eat - less for lunch.

I'm in, provided I can find an AYCE sushi place in the Dallas area that doesn't look gross.
