[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Noises Off Seems Like Old Times Soap Dish The Whole Nine Yards [/ QUOTE ] All of these movies suck. [/ QUOTE ] See, now I was gonna say the same thing, but so many people here already think I am a d*ck that I figured I would just let it slide. But agreeing with sam I think I get some sort of clemency. [/ QUOTE ] Nah I agree too. Well I haven't seen Seems like old times, Noises Off is probably funny if you're into british comedies and Christopher Guest movies or something, Soapdish sucked and Whole 9 Yards both sucked and was seen by most people. [/ QUOTE ] You've never seen Seems Like Old Times, where Robin Williams and Kurt Russell are old buddies in a blue collar town, and their lives have passed them by, and they were on the football team in high school, and the Bad Team From The Other Town and them manage to organize a rematch game of The Big Game from twenty years ago, and then some stuff happens and some other stuff but then you can't tell what's funny and what's sort of supposed to be "poignant" or what other stuff is kind of mystical and magical and teaches you how to love again?! Me neither. [/ QUOTE ] That's The Best of Times, not Seems Like Old Times, unless I'm being leveled. Seems Like Old Times is a Neil Simon comedy starring Chevy Chase, Goldie Hawn and Charles Grodin. |

[/ QUOTE ] No, you were not being levelled here. I thought that the one movie was the other, but then it turned out that I was wrong, and that the movie that I thought was the movie to which the poster referred was not the right movie, and that the right movie just happened to be another not-funny movie starring similar folks with similar themes only without football, and where I learned how to live and to love again, as Neil Simon always teaches me to do because he is so good. |

You can mention Kung Fu Hustle without mentioning Shaolin Soccer? I love SS much more than KFH.... Not quite a movie but Steven Banks Home Entertainment Center is by far my favorite thing no one has ever seen. I just noticed, it looks like there's you tube clips now. Here is the first one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62EePXzshX8 Ray [/ QUOTE ] I understand your point about Shaolin Soccer, but there's something so goofy about the whole 40's gangster thing in KFH (the Axe Gang, etc.), and, most importantly, about the landlady (she cracks me up), I dunno... And of course the Beast is the nuts. He was robbed at the end. Obv. The Toad>The Palm Move That Falls From Heaven. The One just got lucky. |
