That was awful. Why would someone do that to a kid? That's horrible. That's basically like watching a video of someone beating a child. Creepy, awful stuff.

I'm on the more disturbing than funny bus here. I mean doing it to your kid is pretty messed up to begin with. I mean maybe the guy thought it would be funny but he screwed up and the kid was actually horrified. But since he recorded it and posted it on the internet you know it got his rocks off to see a 6 yr old, possibly his own child, having a nervous breakdown. Sick.

[/ QUOTE ]

Wtf? A nervous breakdown? Kids cry when they skin thier knee, get papercuts, lose thier toy, and when have to goto the dentist. What happened to this kid is the equivalent of a horror movie editted down for TV.

If you put some wacky music and commentary over this video clip, it is about on the same level as what gets shown on American's Funniest Home videos. It isn't any more damaging than the first time you got hit junk with a soccor ball.

I've got a hilarious video of me, in my basement, giving little kids skinned knees and papercuts. Wanna see it?

Wow, I can't believe how much people are overreacting to this. What the hell is the big deal? So a kid got spooked - it's not like none of you ever got scared and cried as a kid. It's not going to damage him psychologically and scar him for life. He will be laughing about it in 10 mins.

No he's not going to forget about it any soon. I work with kids under 6 in daycares and truly know that some fears, irrational or not, can last for a very long time.

This kid ain't gonna touch the computer again any soon. Especially with that kind of dad [censored] with him that bad.

puke.

I don't know dude. There's a big difference between saying "boo" and terrifying the living [censored] out of a small child, on purpose, for entertainment value.

Look at the little guy's reaction, that's not a fun scare, that kid is in bad pain.

Yeah, kids get hurt all the time and it's no big deal. But hurting a kid that badly, on purpose, for jollies, is just [censored] creepy.

If there was some way to measure discomfort, I would say this looks like the equivalent of giving someone a nice hard slap across the face. Now imagine someone making a video of themselves doing that to a small child.

On the other hand, I love that show Scare Tactics, so maybe I'm a hypocrite, or maybe the kid's age is the key factor.

Anyway, this is just my personal reaction. I don't blame anyone else for not feeling this way.

If instead of freaking out and crying, the kid just jumped and shrieked and ran away to hide behind something, would everyone be having the same reaction here?

No, which is a good point. I doubt the Dad (or whoever) intended it to be so bad. Still, why post it on the internet?
