News on OL bench presses: Joe Thomas - 28 reps Levi Brown - 31 reps Manuel Ramirez - 40 reps Justin Blalock - 40 reps [/ QUOTE ] After watching these kids do that, those numbers are [censored] amazing. Watching Blalock push 40 out with the Arizona S&C coach yelling at him, "Go Texas, GO" it made me want to run to the weight room. I used to think I was a badass for 17 reps, ha. These guys have to have been created in some other world because those numbers just seem impossible. |

What's the latest on this? [/ QUOTE ] Barbre(from Southern Missouri State-D2) ran a 4.8 as an OL. That is the fastest so far. Kalil just ran a 4.9. I haven't seen the numbers for Thomas or Brown. Sears did not run today. Edit: Thomas is preparing to run soon. Joe Thomas ends up running a 4.96. A sub 5.0 is impressive. This guy is most likely the lock at #1 OL taken. |

Thomas ran a 4.96 on his second attempt and ran a 4.98 on his first. For a 6'7 guy that was absolutely amazing. He pretty much secured himself as the #1 OL. Thomas also looked pretty good in the "pull and block" drill.

Just to note. Considering how well Thomas is doing today he will most likely not need any individual workouts. He has all but seperated himself from the field it seems. Dick Vermeil(sp?) is all over Thomas now that he has watched him the past hour.
Sears may be his only competition and that is because he is not working out. Kalil is also extremely impressive today. Kalil might be pushing himself to #2 OL, but the fact that he is a center might hurt him a little. I also want to say, watching these big men move with such ease through these drills is pretty shocking. They call them "non-skilled" but they are sooo athletic. |
