Don't know if it has been discussed. I tried to search but couldn't find anything. What is the deal with seemingly intelligent people running a hand twice when they know they are a 70/30 dog. I understand why you run it twice when it's a coin flip but Daniel turned down the offer to run it twice when he was a 70/30 favorite, then took the offer when he was a 70/30 dog. That's just stupid. Why would you ever run it twice after you know you're a 70/30 dog?

Running it twice does not change the EV of the hand. Please dont argue just know that it is true. All it does is reduce the variance.
Do a search in the 6 month to 1 year range in the omaha forum. There was a very good discussion of this earlier. |

As a 70/30 dog by running it twice you change from winning 30% and losing 70% to winning 9% losing 49% and splitting 42% (equity of .4*pot in both cases). Choosing the latter lowers your variance.
