[ QUOTE ] but I do find it disturbing that in addition to this show we've seem him act in a mocking way to two other players of Asian/Eastern heritage on television in the last year. And while he might argue that he's playing around with his friends....I haven't seen him act in such a mocking way with any other player with the exception of Mattasow. Chen deserved better and I think the poker community was cheated out of a chance for some educational and entertaining discussion. [/ QUOTE ] Lets play : guess the race of this over sensitive poster. [/ QUOTE ] Guess my race biatch. I'm whiter than Wonder bread and I totally agree with the OP. |

I wish someone would just call DN a 'homosexual' at a TV table, it would put him in his place.

[ QUOTE ]
I tuned into the Circuit for the sole reason that both Negreanu and Chen were going to be on the show. I am a fan of both players and thought that their contrasting styles would make for some insightful dialog on the game. Instead I was disappointed to hear Daniel treating Chen in a mocking and disrespectful manner. As is well known in these forums, Chen is no new comer to the game. He's been making contributions to poker theory for years and has been a profitable player. The TWO bracelets won this year were a validation of his experience and abilities. He deserved more respect than was given to him by Negraeau. I think Daniel is a sensative guy and I think he's fair, so I'll try to give him the benefit of the doubt...but I do find it disturbing that in addition to this show we've seem him act in a mocking way to two other players of Asian/Eastern heritage on television in the last year. And while he might argue that he's playing around with his friends....I haven't seen him act in such a mocking way with any other player with the exception of Mattasow. [ QUOTE ] What is NVG's obsession with creating drama about DN by blowing things out of proportion? Every week it's like "LOOK WHAT HE SAID ABOUT RAYMER," now "LOOK OMG HE INTERRUPTED CHEN ONE TIME O THE HUMANITY." [/ QUOTE ] Next week DN makes fun of his own mother by calling her spaghetti "just ok." [/ QUOTE ] I'd never do that man, seriously, you must be crazy. That's a line you just don't cross! As for Bill, what in the world did I say that would be offensive to his race? Are you serious? I like Bill and have known him for a long time. I also have fun with the show and when they ask me to be on it I do it if I can. If you do a radio show where only one person talks while the others patiently wait and listen, you often don't end up with lively radio. I never meant to be rude to Bill, it's just that when he was talking I had questions for him so I asked. I'll have to listen to the show later, but I didn't think I was being intrusive by not allowing him to say what he wanted to say. I was actually trying to help him along as he seemed a little bit nervous. |

Daniel,
I realize you see yourself as a "joker" and you always like to "have a good time" with your friends, but don't you think imitating anyone who doesn't talk like you, when you talk to them, like you have routinely done with people for years now, is mockery? If I ever meet you, I assumed it wouldn't bother you if I blatantly mocked you by talking like I was gay? |

You never joke around with your friends? |

Hows that "white guilt" working out for you fella? Bill Chen is a big boy and if he found it offensive he can always speak up and tell DN to STFU. He does not need some over sensitive white guy like yourself to step in and protect him like some kind of special needs child. Do you see why? "biatch". el oh el. |

I listened to the 2005 WCOOP webcast with Raymer and Greenstein and thought they were terrific. Really insightful conversations.
Then I saw others on here complaining about how much they were arguing even going so far as to think that Greenstein was not respecting Raymer. They have different opinions and approach the game from different angles. I think it was obvious that they got along extremely well and were just engaged in some conversations where they were interested in sharing their different viewpoints. But not everyone listening saw it that way and I think those people were pretty clueless on this one. I haven't heard the Negreneau/Chen conversation. But it wouldn't surprise me at all if some of the people who had problems with it weren't already somewhat tainted by some sort of dislike for Negreneau already and were practically looking for a reason to dislike him more. |
