The squares seem to be fawning over the Chiefs. Makes one wonder if Indy -7 is a profitable bet.

[/ QUOTE ]

Take the odds for the Chiefs to win. If we lose I bet it's by a bundle.

Colts have been in a freefall the last half of the season. They lost to freaking Houston. They have to be fairly shell-shocked right now. All it takes is a little pressure on Manning and a few breaks go the Chiefs' way early, then the Colts start pressing. Of course a few early Colts scores and Trent Green turnovers and it's over.

Also I think with the way the last 2 weeks of the season played out, the football gods clearly are blessing the Chiefs right now. Do I really believe that? No. But let's hope the players do.

[/ QUOTE ]that "freefall" includes being 4-0 at home over the last 1/2 of the season, all 4 of which were agianst decent teams.

HOUSTON HOUSTON HOUSTON

Anyway, Chiefs suck on the road, granted. But Colts are certainly not on top of their game and ripe for an upset. Which force will prevail? Who knows. Best thing going for the Chiefs is the incredibly lucky way they made the playoffs. I'm telling you a few breaks go their way early, they will start to BELIEVE while a the opposite will be going on on the Colts sideline. And that's a powerful thing.

Oh yeah, and Trent Green getting knocked out of the game early would be a huge break for Chiefs. If Huard comes in, look out. Otherwise they'll only pull Green when/if he's made so many turnovers the game is out of reach. Which sucks.

You can keep harping on the Houston game all you want but it isn't nearly as bad of a loss as you make it out to be. People want to act like the Colts are in the midst of some colossal collapse but the reality is that 2 of the games they lost were to some very long FGs at the buzzer.

Losing to Houston at the buzzer is the equivalent of getting cobbered by a good team. All I'm saying is if the Chiefs get a few breaks early, things should be real interesting. Colts go up 14-0 - not so much. Now you could say that about most potential upsets. But I think this one even moreso with the Colts stumbling down the stretch and the Chiefs feeling a little charmed under Herm. We really really just need Green to severely sprain his ankle in the first series. That would be the biggest luck of all.

No it isn't. They are completely different things. Just like losing to a crappy Cleveland team on an OT FG isn't the same as getting your ass handed to you by a crappy Pittsburgh team.

Dude, you are way off. I'm not saying the Chiefs are that great. I'm just saying the Colts aren't either. Only question is which week Peyton's going to have his trademark miserable playoff game. I'm hoping it's this week.

And we are one of only 2 teams to beat SD. If the Chiefs are clicking they can hang with any team.
