This is actually a hand that I took time to really think about what he could have and concluded that because he flat called the flop, he had a weak 9, 6-7, or two diamonds because there was no other hand he could have just called with on the flop and my hand had to be good. I called and he showed 8-9o, I'm still scratching my head by the way he played it. By the way, he busted 2 hands later calling every street with top pair of queens against someone with Aces, I cried.

so theres ~ 8600 in there, you have a full house and only 2400 to call vs a donator? Justo so im not missing something... [/ QUOTE ] That sounds about right. Easy fold. Pre-flop. Kirk |

What does that have to do with anything? What do you mean fold pre-flop.

I would have either cranked it up preflop, say 350, or checked my option and folded on the flop if much action. It was an easy call on the river, especially since you were still in the hand, what were you hoping to draw to, quads???. If you put him on a specific hand the whole way, and now he pushes, are you now going to reinvent his holdings to justify a fold or a call. I just don't see how a fold here is an option, especailly against this player. It sucks, but if you were in the hand this long, you needed to call. I think Kirk means post flop, since it was an unraised pot and you were the BB.

DJ,
I don't think it's that unusual for that hand to be played like that. |

the straight and the flush got there and top card is paired. this is so, so easy.
not sure if anyone said this but i like your river c/r here. the only hand you lose value from is 9x and it's unlikely he has this after turn |
