If they held a draft for any team needing a QB I think it would go

1. Mike Vick(due more to the "he's amazing to watch" and $$$ factor)
2. Cutler
3. Vince Young
4. Leinert
5. Eli
6. Alex Smith

[/ QUOTE ]

What has happened between the last draft and now to put Cutler above Young and Leinart?

Lol. Nobody in their right mind is taking Cutler over Leinart or Smith.

He was rated by many as the best QB over both of them.

Eli next year, just because he's further along than any of the other options.

Leinart long-term.

I don't know about Leinart, but Alex Smith was not considered a first-rate QB prospect -- he just happened to be the best one in a weak crop. Then he was simply putrid in his rookie season (though he was younger than usual, and has improved greatly this season).

He's also only 22 this year. Has already over a season under his belt and has gotten much better.

I'm sure someone has mentioned this, but where are Rivers/Romo?

Next year, Alex Smith(only 2 votes? nuts).

Long term, probably Leinart ceterus paribus.

This is definitely true. The key thing is that Smith has played really well this year for the most part, given his relative youth and the Niners lack of weapons in the passing game. He looks like a guy with a very good chance of having a 6-7 year run as a top 10 QB in the league as he moves into his mid to late 20s, with some chance of becoming a top 5 type of guy. Jay Cutler is basically still an unknown commodity. A lot of people like him, and for good reason, but nobody really knows what to expect.

No one mentioned it because they have nothing to do with the poll and Rivers would completely dominate the voting.
