Sackup - Where'd you go to high school?

I played 4 years of football and baseball in HS, one year of basketball. Started on varsity for football 3 years and only one in baseball. I still have the single season save record at my high school even after 14 years. Our football team was pretty good senior year, but lost to a team we had already beaten earlier in the year for the CIF-SS championship. Nothing in college other than IM leagues (though we did win the co-ed flag football championship my junior year!).

I played high school football, I never took it further because I wasn't really interested in pursuing it long-term
In college I played and coached lots of flag football, and dicked around in other intramural sports as well

since chess should be a sport, i did very well on that for my high school and college teams...also played basketball kinda well for my middle school team, but never really stuck with it in high school as I was way too busy playing video and computer games...

Wait, before you believe that, check out who attended ACUI Nationals in Flordia. I was suppose to bowl doubles with Robin Crawford but it was the year she made the TV show for the PWBA Queens tournament. I am sitting right behind her during her match as I was her guest.

I HS/pre-college played in little league and recreational leagues for baseball, soccer, and basketball. I also played flag football. In college, I played intramurals for almost everything my school offered, including all of the above plus volleyball, golf, water polo, ultimate frisbee, etc. Post-college, I played in rec leagues for softball, flag football, soccer, golf, and kickball.

So, for someone who has never actually been good at any sport, I'm generally adequate at most of them.

Basketball was my sport. I played back in Sweden where it's not nearly as competitive as in the US, and was on the national team for my age group (at age 15-16).

Played for a big high school as an exchange student, but due to politics (parents bitching about foreign kids taking spots from Americans etc.) I ended up jaded and sick of it all, so didn't do college ball.

My proudest claim to fame would be breaking two hoops in the same day while dunking. Number one was in a streetball tournament in Stockholm where the hoop was kinda abused and my final dunk broke the spring mechanism holding it up. Then I went to my gym and managed to shatter a backboard that was installed incorrectly (too much slack between the backboard and where it was mounted). Pretty cool feeling either way, especially for a 16 year old kid.

I was an A level outdoor doubles USVBA (volleyball) player. I was distinctly average-A. I'd win or place well in B levels quite often, but at A I always ended up in the middle somewhere.

Given I'm 5'10" and only had about a 28" leap, I'm pretty happy with those results. It's all but impossible to play volleyball at the highest levels (high A or Open) without being considerably over 6' tall and/or being able to reach 11'0" or better on the jump tests (I could reach 10'1" at my best).

Edit: played until age 35 at which point my L5 disc finally gave out and I can't play anymore
