Stockman, you must really be an elite player if you're able to win money of Mike Matusow. Congrats.

[/ QUOTE ]

LOL, I saw a recent interview with Matusow and he said that he had lost over a million dollars online and was losing so much that he trashed his computer to keep himself from playing online.

FWIW - stockman and his various stockman## aliases have been around 2+2 for awhile off and on and he's apparently not joking about his beliefs as he continually reiterates that the sites 'code the cards' against you after awhile or something like that.

When he first arrived on 2+2 over a year ago I saw him mention 'Tunica' (very close to where I live) and something about wanting to take on any 2+2'er and I said, "Hell yeah. Lets go!!"

Something like that anyway.

Then I thought better of it since I don't even know this guy plus I didn't feel like travelling down there to play live anyway.

Fast forward a few mths later to the WSOP in Vegas, July 2005.
I'm playing 15/30 limit at the Bellagio and guess who recognizes me at the table from my pic on my blog? (I think he may have also overheard me tell someone else that I was from Memphis).

Yep, indeed it was the very same Stockman.
So we had our little tet-a-tet afterall although it didn't really mean much of course.

He seems nice enough and polite fwiw.

Anyway, I luck-box along and land pocket KK and AA in my first orbit after sitting down and then hit a couple other big hands and am quickly up $1k+.

I beat him in at least one hand with one of my big pocket-pairs but I never saw what he had.

He left at some point and was very polite again and I believe mentioned it was nice to meet me or something like that.

Don't remember if he had busted out. Never got a guage on him as a player as he never got to showdown much.

Anyway, yes Stockman, I do remember you and you seem a nice enough guy.
As you know, I very much disagree with your assessment of online-poker sites rigging the cards against you after a certain amount of time.

I'm still playing online full-time and doing decently.
I'm not exactly cleaning up at high-stakes or anything but that's very much because I'm not a very good player and I don't get around to studying vrey much.

There are many players on here who ARE absolutely cleaning up at 15/30, 20/40 and higher (or your choice of whatever NL stakes you prefer to name) and they have been doing so for quite awhile on the SAME sites (usually Party) and don't have any issues about the sites rigging the cards against them, etc.

Some of our 2+2'ers have won some fairly big scores in land-based events but before that have been solid and consistent internet winners. Thinking of 3 guys who have all won $1-mil or more this year (Schneids, Newhizzle, Technologic).

Stockman - Not exactly sure why you continually get banned on here but such bannings are not just tossed about indiscriminantly.

You do tend to harp on the same opinion over and over again from what I've seen and it's obvious that most 2+2'ers disagree with you and quickly grow tired of the same old argument over and over.

If you don't want to play on the internet sites because they are rigged then that's up to you.
But trying to educate the masses and do such a wonderul public service to the 2+2'ers about how rigged the sites are is just going to fall on deaf ears so I'm really not even sure why you bother.

There's always 1 guy or another who has run badly on such-and-such site who comes running to 2+2 after determining that his bad run must be because the site was rigged against him.

The conversation grows tired very quickly and so many players on here have won so much over a reasonably long time that it is impossible you are going to convince them otherwise.

Why would anyone go through the trouble of re-registering under different aliases over and over to tell people things even YOU are aware they won't accept?

Are you waiting to be crucified or otherwise martyred to "save" online poker?

LET IT GO! In many attempts, you've made no converts. If you think it's rigged, DON'T PLAY! Keep rakin' in the big stacks at Tunica and leave us alone, ok?

The truth is that online poker is far from random...

[/ QUOTE ]

I know people don't like being told when their personal experiences aren't statistically significant, but you've asked for it here. "Why insult posters because they tell the truth"? Making an anecdotal claim on the randomness of a poker site -- something which CAN be qualitatively analyzed through the science of statistics -- is not "tell(ing) the truth". If you come in here randomly asserting that it IS the truth, you should be prepared to be insulted.

If you are so passionate about this idea of yours, take it upon yourself to gather your own evidence. Fund/manage a comprehensive study to see if your hypotheses hold true. I promise that if you post the results of such a study here, I will respect you. But I strongly suspect that such a study would end up proving your ideas wrong in this case.

When you have truth to speak, we're ready to listen. Truth requires evidence and validation.

Stockman, it's really very simple: Put up or shut up. Either gather the data and prove your claim, or stop spouting ignorance. To say that online poker is completely unregulated is a boldfaced lie. There still exists very little incentive, and a ton of risk, for sites to rig their games. Sure, some fly-by-night sites might not exactly be on the straight-and-narrow, but the big name sites (Party, Stars, etc.) are under a lot of scrutiny and surely take in far too much revenue without fixing their games to even consider rigging them and losing their business.

I agree with stockman. You can check my PS stats on SharkScope, I win there. However the cards are not random. If you guys have ever played many live hands, you will see that big hands just dont come around that often. On pokerstars they are constant. I didn't want to believe it, but i have no choice but to accept it.

You guys are in denial because you love to play your precious poker and don't want to accept the truth. The truth is that all of the online poker rooms are rigged for action and rigged for new accounts to win.

I saw where Matusow threw away his computer cause he lost so much money. However he is a pro and wins consistantly player real poker. If the online game was the same, he would win there too. He cant say its rigged though, cause he is sponsored.

Matusow has been known to lose live sometimes too.

But I appreciate your fun, little observation about how you can just 'tell' that the big hands are coming more often online.

Reminds me of a time I had this one hand where I had AA on a KKQQ board and the other two guys were betting like crazy so I had to sadly let it go on the turn even though I just 'had a feeling' I should e hanging onto it.

Of course, the river was an A and if I had somehow been able to stay in for my 2-outer which I just KNEW was going to come I would have dragged a monster pot.

Sometimes you just get the feeling that the big card is going to come on the end.

I also played a tournament recently where I got AA on back to back hands and then hit a set of 4's on the very next hand. I was a big chip-leader and life was good and the whole table was going crazy and my luckbox-ish-ness.

Of course, all these hands happened live (Horseshoe and Gold Strike, Tunica).
