[ QUOTE ]

He's apparently a good stud player, but yeah, I dunno wtf is up with his NL play. This is a rare time where I feel completely qualified to say this pro plays NL like [censored].

[/ QUOTE ]

I haven't played a ton of stud, but from what I have, I think it's possible to succeed at higher limits if you're a total nit. Winning is more about paying attention to all the shown cards, and just staying alert and patient in general.

In NL if you simply stay alert and play straightforward, good players will eat you alive.

Did he ever explain himself for that slow roll?

What did Gus say about his haircut? "half attachment?"

[/ QUOTE ]

They were talking about the clip on the shears -- length 0.5. But he didn't get it.

i cant wait for that big gus/DN hand, i'm gonna try and avoid any spoilers so i dont know what happens before i watch it.

calling anon a nit isn't entirely correct, calling a 10k reraise with A10...um, he's just a donk. (not to say it's a bad call vs DN/'s range, but no nit is calling there).

the zeidman dude is so annoying, he plays like a complete amateur at NL, it's rather funny.

wtf is up with EE taking 10 minutes on every single decision at the table, i'd be so pissed if i were playing at a table with him.

i think that's all for now

I agree, I just don't like Eli, he seems like an [censored]. Everytime I see him on TV I just root for him to lose...he thinks he's so freggin' sweet but he's just a douche.

I'm not as down on Eli as some of you are. I'm certainly not a big fan, but I'm pretty neutral. I like that he comes to play. At the very least, he doesn't let himself get pushed around.

Also, although I think he makes mistakes, he isn't a total, by any means.

I donno...there's something about him that I just don't like. I realized this today when I happen to catch an episode of Poker Superstars. I kept thinking how I didn't like him.

Does anybody know who Gus's backer was? I could swear I heard the players saying someting like "yeah, if anybody was going to put up $500k, he's the one that would do it." They might have just been talking about Gus, but it seemed like they were talking about some unnamed backer.

Gabe explicitly talked about the props today for the first time. I wish he had said a little more about it. It would be cool to know at least what size bets were being made on props. Maybe that would just confuse the average viewer though.

I actually think they said, "Oh, of course, and how could we not figure out who put the 400 on the table" or something like that, because they didn't know whose money it was. They weren't talking about his backer. The 400k was on the table but they did not know who it belonged to. If you see the 400k is just sitting there and then Gus just kind of strolls in and everyone is surprised. It seemed like he called ahead and had the casino have the 400k ready for him to be in play when he got there. I also remember from DN's blog that he was totally shocked when Gus walked into the room because he didn't think Gus was in town (he was probably mad later on when he got pwned).

So, I think the 400k was put on the table by an employee and the players sat for some time trying to figure out whose money it was until Gus finally got there. They probably didn't think Gus because nobody knew he was in town.

(Right when I heard that comment I took a minute to try and figure out what was going on and this is what I came up with.)

However, that doesn't mean he doesn't have a backer but I doubt it. Plus, if he did, why wouldn't the backer just give him 100k like the rest of the people instead of 400.
