A few people make it sound bad if digital waffle had the SA goons help him win a trip to vegas. I dont see how that is any different than people at twoplus two banding together to send tribefan to the wsop.

[/ QUOTE ] If people were cheating by deleting cookies so as to vote multiple times, than that is bad. I'm not familiar with exactly what was done for tribesfan, but I'm guessing it didn't involve people cheating. |

[ QUOTE ]
Oh, I see...he had goons do the cheating for him you say? I guess this is the "it's about who you know, not what you can do" scenario? Congrats to Bill Filmaff and everyone at SA then for getting your boy the win? Scumbags! [/ QUOTE ] Jman, I totally agree if people were clearing cookies and revoting that is a crappy thing to do. I was alluding to the quote from OP that made him sound pissed that DigitalWaffle got the SA people to vote for him. I don't read the SA forums very often anymore, hence I dont know exactly what happened here, but I do know if the ok is given for the forums to vote for one of there own in an online contest odds are they are going to win. |

cracker, that quote is pure sarcasm. I wasn't pissed that anyone had anyone vote for them...
Fact of the matter is the winner had over 1200 votes cast "illegally", so I was alluding to what the guy said about the winner didn't cheat by "self-voting" rather "SA voted for him zealousy". Kind of made it sound to me like he was saying the winner didn't do the cheating himself, he had the SA people do it for him, so it's ok. I hope you understand where I was coming from in that quote now. |

Granny, I do remember that, vaguely. That was back in the day when there was hardly any spam on RGP and poker was just starting to get it's mainstream feet wet.
I'd really love to know if UB employed the same marketing agency back then that is with them today. I tried posting this on RGP too, but it was quickly drowned out by all the spam and had only 1 comment with someone telling me I should have cheated too and that Phil was a "Douchebucket" anyways. I really wish this could get to that many "people in the know" like it could back then. I'd love to hear what they thought, although this is on a very lower scale. Alas, i'm probably thought of as just some peon that can be replaced by 20 new players that saw poker on TV and wanted to try online and that maybe if they ignore this it will go away. I'm still hoping that maybe they do the right thing here...and not just by me that would have won with the next highest votes, but by the other 2 as well. They didn't deserve to get the shaft in a dishonest contest either. |

This is too bad. I really think the primary problem is that UB didn't anticipate what a retarded way of judging the contest this was, and that it is inherintly exploitable whatever measures you put in place.
