Has anyone else noticed that Skip Bayless and Woody Paige are both prominently featured on a daily basis on ESPN, and neither one of them knows anything about sports? How does this happen?

You'd think they would have at least picked something up along the way.

If you ever saw Bayless on 1st and 10 you'd know he's a moron.

And Woody Paige? His analysis (it was mentioned he golfs regularly with Shanahan and they are close friends) of the AFC game was to talk about how good Jake Plummer is. Of course Bayless was arguing for the other Jake.

Ouch.

No kidding. Neither team has a loudmouthed a-hole, so therefore it's not a good game? I think any sports fan can find plenty of interesting storylines in a game like this.

As a sportswriter, I was sick of the Bettis crap since the day after the Indy game. Of course, since there are numerous Steelers fans who read the paper I work for (3 hours Southeast of Pittsburgh), a Bettis story has been on the sports front nearly every day for 2 weeks.

Side note/meaningless opinion: The more I think about the psychological aspects of this game, the more I like the Seahawks. A lot.

Oh, and on topic: Of course Bayless is a douchebag. Duh. His problem is the same as most columnists ... our job has become to write whatever will get the biggest reaction. Most of the time most columnists don't even believe what they're writing.
