The Tony-Anthony conversation in the garage was great. [/ QUOTE ] Except you can't put a hole in a windshield with a bike helmet. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] This episode is killer. [/ QUOTE ] I'd have to disagree. Way too much time spent on melodramatic filler scenes between Roe and Carm in Paris. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah really, wtf. [/ QUOTE ] What was with the scene where she's staring at random things on the bridge? That was such a strange scene where it would switch to some gold bird back to her face looking all crazy and then a statue and then a boat. [/ QUOTE ] I think it was supposed to illustrate the difference between her ugly life back home and the beauty of her surroundings in Paris. [/ QUOTE ] Yep, and at dinner, Carm brought up Jackie Jr, and then dreamt of Adriana. She is quickly heading to the point where she acknowledges what Tony really does for a living, and that is going to be a bad moment for Carm. |

"I loved him like a brother-in-law" might be my favorite Sopranos line since "Have you considered salads".
Phil L's wife might be as awful as Janice. God, what a [censored]. The bicycle helmet / windshield thing was annoying. Isn't that impossible? I can now live a happy life without having to see Vito rape Phin. Hallelujah! EDIT: Wow, the word that starts with a "t" and ends with a "wat" is censored. Who knew? |

Great episode - no one mentioned the cutaway from Carmela admiring Paris's architecture to Silvio yelling 'Make sure you get that [censored] off her tit!' to the guy washing the BadaBing sign. They've gotten good at these humorous cutaways.
There was a bit too much of Carmela's philosophizing - it was pretty obvious that Ro was tiring of it throughout the whole trip. What a weird ending - it seemed to echo Carmela's thought in Paris about how people jump in and out of existence in a person's life. The photographer just had a kind of 'huh' reaction to the whole thing. Also glad to see Vito get whacked without the Phin rape - I never believed that to begin with, as it didn't really seem to fit the story. Speaking of rape, that whole Dr. Melfi rape thing never really went anywhere, but that's a couple of seasons ago now I guess. Still, I thought the show was really well acted, especially the scene at dinner in Paris and the scene in the garage with Tony and Anthony. All the little threads are coming together - should be really interesting from now until the end of the season. |

Speaking of rape, that whole Dr. Melfi rape thing never really went anywhere, but that's a couple of seasons ago now I guess. [/ QUOTE ] The point of that episode was that Melfi had considerations of allowing Tony to extract revenge on her behalf. Her husband didn't do anything and her son resented him for it. She wanted revenge when she found out where he worked, and she talked about that in her own therapy session. In the end, she did not want to become one of "those people" and/or get the mob involved as it could only get worse from there. Basically, she chose not to tell Tony what really happened, and decided to just move on with her own life. |
