Let me start off by saying that my profile right now is not designed to meet women. This is mostly due to my total lack of having any good digital pictures of myself or access to a scanner. The picture I have on now is from Halloween--me dressed as Andy Warhol. Anyway, I randomly get a message from a girl yesterday. She seems cute, intelligent (goes to CMU), kind of arty, and at the very least isn't fat. I have a line in my "people you'd like to meet" section that says "People who are too weird for the normal crowd and too normal for the weird crowd." Her message was:

Update, because I meant to send the previous message last night but my internet connection failed

This girl mentioned this obscure children's video on her profile called "Wee Sing Together" which I had as a kid. I wrote saying that I thought I was the only one who knew about it. She responded with a short note saying it was her favorite video as kid, she had the same outfit as the girl in it, etc.

My question is how to take this to the next level, i.e. talking about actual stuff. I don't know if I'm socially retarded or what, but I have no idea how to do this kind of stuff online. If I can do this, I would have no problem getting her to meet me for coffee or something in real life.

This thread was actually deleted sometime in the last two weeks. astroglide realized it and Chuck Weinstock had to pull it from the back-ups. We still don't know how it was deleted (My best theory is that an OOT mod accidently did so when responding to a notification).

Mat commented in the Mod fourm that stuff like linking what you're suggesting will result in the deletion of that post.

There was a piece on Dateline NBC tonight about MySpace sex predators. I couldn't help but laugh and wonder if this thread was still alive, and here it is. Kudos for the persistence deviants of 2+2, but beware, for Stone Phillips is on to you.
