Quick sample size question:
I moved up to 25NL this month. I've played about 16,000 hands so far, and right now I'm exactly even! This is after I averaged about 8 PTBB/100 at 10NL. I'm sure that I've made my fair share of mistakes, but it also feels like I'm running poorly. Could variance be the cause of my break-even streak (i.e. what is truly a sufficient "sample size")? Should I keep grinding away at 25Nl, or drop back to 10NL and work on improving my game?

Start posting hands. I've seen you at 25 NL but haven't really got into many pots with you. You also pick horrendous tables for what it's worth. I have a pretty large sample size on you, but don't have anything of substance to tell you.

Yeah I've started to post quite a bit in the last week or so. Surprised to hear you say I have poor table selection... I look for the highest players/flop percentages on full tilt's lobby, and it seemed to be working okay. I guess sometimes when I'm six-tabling I lose track if a table turns to [censored]. How much would you say pokertracker would help in table selection (I'm on a Mac so I'd need to buy Windows + PT + HUD, so I want to see if it's worth it).

BTW, if you don't mind, what are my stats?

My June graph. First 3k hands or so were 50 NL until I stopped playing it because I was playing so badly. All hands occured in the past 8 days.

PT + PAHUD are useful because if you datamine a lot, you can join a table and pretty much know from the start 2-3 players you want to play with or should leave. Today I was on tables with you and then DannyOcean would join, another 2p2 TAG, so I would instantly leave when my blinds were done. You may initially pick good tables, but when they turn bad you have to be ready to gtfo.

I have you at 18/14/4 over ~700 hands

Yeah, I knew DannyOcean was 2+2, but I figured one other nit at the table isn't too bad. Thanks for the advice though, I'll definitely pay attention to how the tables change, and I'll most likely set up Windows, PT, etc. in the near future. Is your name on FT the same as here? I'll look out for you too
