[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I have access to the player account database, the hand history database and various others. [/ QUOTE ] I'm curious. What consists of the "various others"? [/ QUOTE ] Well, things like the tournament database (which tournament is which, who entered), various player analysis statistics (how many people from France signed up last week) and so on. |

The thread was saved by the insightful online backgammon post, but unfortunately nobody payed any notice. It deserves quoting in any future thread though.

notreally - I noticed that post and really liked it.
I had also seen it before from a couple years ago or so. I forgot to comment on it because I do was busy ripping on some of the others in this thread I guess. But you are correct that it's a worthwhile read and perhaps the best post in this thread. luckychancer - go to your settings on 2+2 and adjust your "posts per thread" count to 100. |

For some reason, I can't help myself. It's like poking a hornet's nest with a stick - fraught with danger yet all so thrilling at the same time[ QUOTE ]
1. Someone please close this thread, its becoming so meaningless. [/ QUOTE ]Becoming? Don't sell yourself short, judge, you're a huge slouch. [ QUOTE ] 2. Why do so many people come on here and flame other people. [/ QUOTE ]He who flames first flames best. [ QUOTE ] 3. it would be interesting to see what percenratage of people who talk so much on here to actually show that they win a significant amount of money. [/ QUOTE ] ok. Not bad for a mediore 95% button raise, I suppose. [ QUOTE ] 4. If anyone needs proof of my success, I can provide proof of all my homes registered under my name along with my newest home. [/ QUOTE ] Let us proof, gogogogo. [ QUOTE ] 5. The very reason I still play at stars is the reason why I am such a good poker player. [/ QUOTE ] Game selection being about the most important skill, this is, like, self-negating, dude. [ QUOTE ] I win everywhere else I play up to 100-200 limits [/ QUOTE ] Hand histories of you even sitting 100-200 or GTFO [ QUOTE ] but I cannot win at stars no matter what limits, so I continue to play there to figure out why I cannot win, whether I need to tune up my game or to find out the site is skewed or rigged, either way I will either find out it is rigged or I will find a way to win because frankly I am much better than most players at 5-10. [/ QUOTE ] Well, if you already know you're one of the better players there, how could you possibly need to tune your game. Nitty is certainly the most profitable 6 max style, so it's surprising you don't win more. [ QUOTE ] When I see better players I will be the first to admit it. ( Jctheguide, hadji, marchinvet2, quality19. Are just a few off the top of my head that always outplay me. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I never outplay you. Unless you count more than the first two cards. [ QUOTE ] I make enough money to pay my bills with just one week of play at the big games so I spend the rest of my time tuning up my game at stars, and that SN elite incentive was just the thing I needed to do this. [/ QUOTE ]Again, lol at you in the big games. If you are 'tuning up' your game, doesn't that at least imply being open to the possibility, that oh, I dunno, YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG. Which is fine. Keep A) doing what you are doing, and B) sitting at my tables (strangely, I haven't seen OP at the tables in a few weeks...hrmmm...) I'm sure it will all work out for you. |

[ QUOTE ] If you're so convinced that they set it up for the losing players to win more often then go ahead and start a new account so they don't know it's you and play in whatever way you think it is that is supposed to be bad enough to get noticed by Stars so that they somehow want to make you a winner. [/ QUOTE ] You said: [ QUOTE ] ...but I cannot win at stars no matter what limits, so I continue to play there to figure out why I cannot win,... [/ QUOTE ] Inasmuch as you are convinced that PS is "skewed" so that "bad players" win, it seems to me that Bob has given you perfect advice. Why not take it? After all, good poker players are the ones who adjust their game to optimize their chances to win given varying conditions and situations. Obviously in your case (and I suspect for a lot of other players as well), you have not made the proper adjustments to your game to offset PS' "skewing." FWIW, I have been playing on-line for almost four years now. About 60% of my play is at 7 card stud. I have played at Party, UB, Gaming Club, Interpoker, Sunpoker, and now just at FTP and PS. I too have been much more successful at all of these sites compared to PS, where I have been slightly better than break-even. Like with you, it has been a source of frustration for me. However, unlike you I have never seriously considered that PS' deal/RNG is "rigged" or "skewed." What I have considered, at least insofar as all of its stud-based games are concerned, is that the way the games are structured, i.e., the ratios between ante/bring-in/completion/small-bet/big-bet, encourages more chasing than the way these same games are structured at other sites. This may not have as much application to HE games, where the structures are pretty standard from site to site, but nonetheless if you are finding more "bad players" at your HE tables at PS than you are at other sites who are causing you to lose, you must do one of three things: 1. Adjust your game to the "bad" play. 2. Find another table at PS where the play is not so "bad." 3. Stop playing at PS. In my case, I found that by doing #1 and #2 I am now winning more consistently at PS so that I don't have to do #3. Lastly, although I have some empathy for your frustrations regarding not being as successful at PS as at other sites, you have really sounded like an immature, self-entitled and illogical person throughout this entire thread. For this you have my sympathy. |

"if you are finding more "bad players" at your HE tables at PS than you are at other sites"
OP should also consider that the aggressive blind-stealing type of "bad players" he is up against aren't nearly as bad as he thinks they are. Also, I have respect for some of the 4 players who he listed as being pretty decent. But a couple of them strike me as being too weak-tight although not to the extent of OP's weak-tightness I don't think. I'm not positive about that though. In other words, OP might be incorrect in his assessment of who the "bad players" are. |
